Well, in the article from the Mail on Sunday from March 1999 (which is also posted here) he mentions having a steady girlfriend. And I can remember an other interview from that period in which he mentions being in a longlasting relationship, so I assume that's the same girl (no idea what he name is) as he mentions in this column. Oh, and he started dating Sarah in 2000. He does seem to do the "longlasting" thing doesn't he?? Wonder who dumped who etc just because i have a morbid curiosity for such sorry!

The owner of j-m.co.uk was Indochine. She is still about on The Pievy. Maybe someone could PM her on there and ask for the articles and interviews. It's a real shame that it was all removed so suddenly without giving anyone warning. Rather selfish, I feel. I never managed to get into The Pievy, but if anyone could, that would be great. I'd be more than happy to help put it all on this site. I think you should have a word with the mod over there ASAP as someone registered with your user name quite a while ago.

I registered ages ago, but it was never approved by the administrator, so I couldn't/can't log in.

I had a darker interpretation of the article, but that may be saying more about the way I perceive things than anything to do w/ James. If someone I cared about encouraged me to share in something he loved, and then later angrily pushed me away when my increasing knowledge threatened his (apparently fragile) sense of masculine superiority ... it wouldn't reflect well on him, I don't think. Perhaps I see things through a glass darkly. Maybe he was mostly reacting to her use of the word "we" and the implied future as a couple. Maybe I'm reading too damn much into an old article in an obscure car magazine... Back to the photo: he looks like a thinner, slightly mean version of Stephen Fry. Cute but mildly disturbing. I just can't see him without long hair.

I didn't take it that way either. I thought he was just being silly at the end as well. Sometimes guys joke around like that. If I were her, I probably would've given him a sharp elbow in the side and said, "watch it, buddy!"
What I saw was him putting her up on a pedistal most of the way through. What I really liked was where he said something like, "no, don't stop. Keep talking." He must have liked the sound of her voice too. I get that same attraction to men's voices as well.

And that web site was very nice. It was the first James May website I stumbled upon. ;D I would love to see some of it's content somewhere else on the internet. Preferably here! Sorry to say highly unlikely this will happen. There is a bit of a history between james-may.co.uk and our previous forums on Digital Spy, our James May Smut proboards and finally our existing board here! The webmistress of james-may.co.uk, Indochine, did not approve of some of our content, so I don't think we are likely to see any sort of transfer. Which certainly is a shame, as she had such a huge catalogue on james-may.co.uk, plus she interviewed him every year at the motor shows. I must post a little blurb about our James May forum history for those who are not aware of how we started! You must eclair .........it'll be well enlightening ;D

Thanks to Dani & Mojo for sharing what you thought. I got the humour throughout the whole column, but as I said there were a couple of things that (projecting here!) if I were the woman in that relationship would raise red flags. Especially the "what's this we nonsense?" which, sensitive soul that I am, would interpret as bad news indeed. Especially since I love Jaguars with an unhealthy passion Anyway! Interesting stuff about The Pievy; I'd never heard of it before. Who knew that photos of a man enjoying a pie could be so erotic...

Well I've been having a scoot round the web archieve and found web.archive.org/web/20070824022043/www.james-may.co.uk/v2mainpage.html Not all of the photos are accessible but there might be some that peope have missed "

That will keep me occupied this weekend! I already salvaged two interviews I had never seen before. I'll post them later at the In the News Thread. ;D Edit: I found and posted several interviews. (And saved a copy on my computer as well in case this board ever goes down as well. I think it does show that there is no such thing as "deleting" on the internet. Something to think about when you are posting on Facebook, YouTube and such.
