I'm listening to the Horrible Histories prom. The classical pieces they've chosen to complement the songs are really well chosen and accessible and the actors are doing a great job of bringing not just the songs but incidental characters as well to the stage. They've even corrected the one glaring inaccuracy in the song about the Kings George (they originally described George I as having gorged on fruit and died on the loo, but that was George II). Absolutely brilliant - wish I'd been there!

He was such a talented guy. My favorites are LA woman, Riders on the storm, light my fire, had a crush on a guy when that came out.

I'm listening to The Kaiser Chiefs who are performing loud and clear in my back garden. I should explain the Kaisers are playing live at kirkstall Abbey, about three miles from my house, but such is the wind direction, that they could be here. My son went to a barbecue at his friends house last night, his house overlooks the Abbey so they got to see the concert for free.

I'm listening to the sound of silence. Sometimes it is just nice not to have the tv or radio blaring.

After many decades and an e-mail from Derek Brimstone, I have finally managed to hear 'March Rain.' I heard it in a folk club many eons ago, and it is a song that has stuck with me in memory, but I was never able to locate it until tonight. I'm very happy.
