Thanks for finding that, Tui. I love this story. The way he describes Jeremy's sleeping habits and what it's like to do your business (if you're a guy) was hilarious.

I see they've really jumped on the snow bandwagon now... a whole host of snow-related vids etc!

Just spotted this on the BBC site...
Jeremy, Richard and James will all be back in 2009 for more adventures, even if the global car industry isn't. Don't worry though, even a review of a bicycle can be exciting if you set it on fire and race it down the side of an active volcano...
Now there's a thought.
LOL ;D

I really hate to bump quite so badly, but obviously we don't need another thread for the Top Gear website, so here goes. Every time I go onto the site I find something new - then usually can't ever find it again! However, I've found a section called 'Production Notes' which I think is absolutely fascinating. It answers a lot of questions about how things are filmed, and is very honest about how they achieve what they do. It may be that everyone else knows about this already, in which case ignore me, but it's definitely worth a read. This first one is the Winter Olympics, but the others are linked on the page. www.bbc.co.uk/topgear/extras/production_notes/winter_olympics.shtml

Great link, Dit. But this bit made me laugh: "The big white bales you see being put into place before the launch are actually filled with straw, which is one of the best impact-absorbing materials you can get. However, straw is pretty scarce in the Arctic wilderness of northern Norway, so it had to be transported from sunnier climes."Right. The underlined part is probably quite true, but they were in Lillehammer, ffs. Not very arctic. Not very wild. Not very northern. ;D en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lillehammer

Typically for the Top Gear website, I've eventually found, hiding, loads of links from those pages that lead to other Extras/Production Notes, including the one for the supercars under £10,000 challenge (ironically on Dave at the moment) which revealed the following:
(after the programme) James' Lambo was bought by an Italian car specialist, who got it back to good health and sold it.
And of course for each Production Note there's also the video of the challenge or whatever, uncut and all in one piece, as far as I can tell. I'm really quite pleased with this find!
Edit: from the mothers test:
The remote-opening doors on the Peugeot 1007 were an endless source of amusement in the Top Gear office. They work from quite a distance away and if you time it right you can really scare passers-by.

Last time I looked, I couldn't find them at all. It may be my imagination, but I'm sure there used to be one for the Bugatti/Cessna race - I was looking for it to satisfy a conspiracy theorist over on Final Gear. Can't find it now, though
