That is great. I'm glad your grandad is feeling better, Vix. Here's my good news from me. I won employee of the quarter. The best thing about that for me is I get a few days off, which I find very rewarding. I love my time off. I'm not sure when I'll take them, but we shall see. |

After many years in the reading wilderness, I have finally got the reading bug again - even putting thoughts down for a book, any book, I have been wanting to write since I was 12 . Oh, and I was a girly swot on my last assessment getting second best mark! |

After all my recent searching, I think I may, at last, have found the ideal place for me to live. It's a one bedroom house, with the loft space converted into a small room by the current owner. Paved area in front, enclosed by a mid-height wall and gate (ie. somewhere to park the Jag) and a private back yard. It's a lovely little house, in a nice area, and I want to live there! My dad will be here tomorrow, and I'll be viewing the house again tomorrow evening, with him. I only hope no-one else puts in a good offer before me, because I really love it. |

My good news at the moment is that I had an interview today which went well, I'm going to see the Mighty Boosh twice in January and I have a trip to London next week to look forward to.

Good! I'd love you and all my friends to visit. It'll be great to finally be able to accommodate guests. I was thinking about holding a JMB house warming party, should everything go OK. I nearly lived in Greenford whenI was about 20 but someone beat us to it with the deposit. It is nice there, but much further out than you are now XJ! Fingers crossed it's right for you & works out OK.

The latest news is that, this afternoon, I made an offer for the house, and it was accepted! ;D However, I'm taking a bit of a gamble, as my offer was slightly lower than the vendor was asking, and so the house will remain on the market, and thus open to higher offers, until I can get a mortgage approved and a survey booked. I went to see a mortgage lender today, and I'm now awaiting a decision in principle as to whether or not they'd be willing to lend me what I need. I should find out tomorrow. Here's hoping they'll agree to it! |

Sounds promising, XJ! You should be OK so long as you're asking for a mortgage within the normal limits & the house doesn't have anything too odd about it. Having a decent size deposit helps too.
Keep us posted on the house warming party. Will there be room for all 300+ of us?

Even though I'm off work the rest of this week (HALLILUAH!!), I have to go in Friday morning and accept my award. I hate awards banquets and don't feel like I really did anything out of the ordinary, but I'm surprised they thought to give me one. I do appreciate it and probably will once I'm feeling normal again. I'm thinking of wearing my purple dinner dress to accept it, just to be silly. |
