Ok, I'm not quite sure where this goes, as I don't think it's particularly ugly, but it's not particularly cute either. The New Ford Ka: Looks a little like the love child of a threesome between the Fiat 500, the Toyota Aygo and the Peugeot 207

If it looked remotely like the old one, I could understand, but it's nothing like it!!! Here's the rear end....

It certainly is! I didn't particularly like the old Ka in all fairness, but this one has just shot it straight to the top 10 of my 'I'd rather have John Prescott than drive this...' list.

I actually prefer it to the original. It's a lot more chunky and less cutesy. However, the proportions are a bit off to my mind. In fact, it has met my expectations of looking like a tiny baby brother or sister for the Focus.
Mind you, when I say baby, what I mean is it resembles its older sibling in the same way a human baby does - it's roughly the same shape, but the proportions are all over the place and the comparison is borne out by the new Ka's face - the most noticeable feature is a huge, open, gummy-looking mouth. Still, it looks a bit more generally purposeful than the old one, so that's a plus in my book.
However, I still wouldn't want one. That's because today I've been looking at the new "middle sibling" in the Ford hatch family, the brand new Fiesta. And it's bloody lovely. It looks great, the console layout takes modern mobile phone keypads as its paradigm so it's pretty obvious how it works, the seats are comfy, there's a reasonable amount of room and although it's not a hugely important consideration, the colours that have been developed for it look amazing and funky.
Yes, the unthinkable has happened. I have fallen in love with a hatchback.

Why not just buy an aygo? Thats a sad little box with no character... which is what this seems to be! I own a KA (a 2001 model) and I adore it because its curvy and cutesy and when I look at it I see its character. This is a MUTANT and it must DIE!

Not very photogenic is it, probably looks better in the flesh or should I say, in the steel, I love the KA personally had a very childish time when my sis had one and Fords have this notion that a KA is equal to a Galaxy when my car goes in for repair still I don't complain a fiver and it goes for miles, so next time when the car is in, I'll tell you what it's like ;D

Dya know in terms of parts they are meant to be very similar are fords. My mum has a Focus and her engine is very very close to mine (KA) but its mounted differently and that really surprised me.

She's actually pretty neutral... I'm not a girly girl when it comes to my car, all my cars are girls, and they all have guys names, but I never dress it up in all that pink cr*ppy sh*t that most 19 YO's do. It's all gushy and, well.... girly *shudder*

Fantastic! It's got great handling, smooth, powerful, considering it's only got a 998cc engine, it sounds beastly, almost like a diesel engine. Considering I drive like a loon, it's a pretty good car to have! Quick, nippy and safe! ;D

I don't imagine they have changed that too much; they know it was popular before.

I tried to sound menacing in my little KA (old one) when some berk on a bike at the traffic lights was cutting me up. I failed, it was like a lion cub going 'Raaaaaah' Not in the least bit scary.

See, the Aygo has a deep roar ;D Sounds like some just poked a lion up the bum with a stick, or set fire to its tail
