Is it just me or is this car boring? Thanks Dutch! 'Honey I shrunk the focus' is an insult to the poor ole focus!!!!!

I asked what it was like to drive and Rich has answered. Sounds like a cracking little motor

I thought of you when I read it. Both the Ka and the new Fiesta sound like fun cars. When I'm in a position to actually own one, I'll probably have a look at both. And then buy a ten year old snot box, but hey, it's fun to dream

I love it with a passion despite it having the turning circle of a battleship I love Fords as they are so good to drive. However, if money was no object and I could buy a little runaround, it would have to be the Fiat 500. It's so pretty

Your truck is fabulous. There are a couple here, one in black and one in silver, and they turn my head every time I see them. Have to admit I did really like the new Fiesta when I saw it last week though. It might sound daft, but if it's possible for a car to want to make you happy, that one just does. It's got a heck of a lot more personality than the previous one

If the TG team use them for stunt driving (even though they are stripped out) they can't be all that bad. I am a bit biased, I'm afraid

Well, there is that too What they did with those Fiestas was remarkable. All the precision driving was remarkable. Let's hope that technical goodness (less the adaptations that allowed some of the wizardry, of course, though I wouldn't mind the lights!) has been passed on to the next generation!

I'd like to have the Ford Thunder *drools* Failing that, and seeing as I'm too young and broke to be able to get out of Toyota's vice grip, I'll have to settle for a Rav4 or a Hilux. It's a tough choice, and it'll be expensive, but it'll be worth it ;D

I've been having a proper look at the new Ka today. It looks a lot better in the metal. In fact, even with its big gob, it has won me over. Inside it has a very similar feel to the Fiat 500, which isn't surprising considering they platform share, but there are a lot of elements that feel like a simplified version of the new Fiesta. Did someone swap mine and Dutch's brains when I wasn't looking? First of all she turns her back on city cars in favour of the Mercedes McLaren SLR Stirling Moss, then I eschew noisy things with big, thirsty engines in favour of the Fiesta, the Fiat 500 and dare I say it the new Ka. Up close you really can see the family resemblance to the Focus and the Fiesta, though it's generally more 'dumpy' - definitely the cute, chubby baby. And the interior design shares the family resemblance too. Anyway, this is the New Ka Zetec. The slightly bonkers white bits in the interior trim are an option called 'pearl'. I can't quite make my mind up about that but I like it a lot more than I thought I would. Definitely on the list of potential test-drives for once the house is sold and I sort out my test. Piccies... Crazy cockpit colour scheme! You can't see the black and red seats because I couldn't get a wide enough shot and I'm not a contortionist

D'ya know... it's growing on me. But there was something so individual about the original KA and this one is just a smaller focus. But I do love the colours inside on the dash. White is where it's at isn't it! They are all trying to do a fiat 500 aren't they!

Oooo weird the gearstick being higher up The inside is quite funky. It is definitely looking like a shrunk Fiesta on to hot a wash. Now is it the same size as the old Ka?

Like I said, I know they platform share, but it really did remind me of the 500 inside, both with the white (which unlike the 500 is only white - and only available on the Zetec version - and not body-coloured). Presumably the transmission is located in the same general way on both of them too, what with the platform share, because the gearstick is in the same place on both and it really works well there ergonomically speaking. The funny thing is when I first saw that colourscheme on the TG website early this year I thought it looked absolutely godawful, but in reality it does work!
But I still think it looks like it has a big, gummy baby mouth.

That car looks weird. I rather have the new Toyota IQ.

For comparison, here's its platform mate. You can see the similarity in the layout even though the style of trim is very different. (I love my local mall. I get to play with pretty Brmms ) Can't make my mind up about the IQ. Need to see one in real life to make my mind up. Things often 'feel' different from how I expect them to when I actually look at them.

I like the simple Ka layout, since all Fords have the similar layout you don't get lost, however I like the Fiat's Rev and speedo. Wonder if they could create a Ka 500 and blend the two together just for the undecided

There was a 500 at the new Tesco store that's just been built where I live. It was funky! Better than the one I looked at anyway!

Under the user interfaces, the cars have virtually identical layouts if you look closely. And I think the spec I would go for might be approaching what you mean, MG - it's the Fiat 500 Sport with black leather/black ambience interior. I was looking at one of these the other day. It was yellow, but I've specced this one in one of the retro colours, ChaChaCha blue. See how it is nothing like as retro as the white one. I the 'Sport' version.

The front of the IQ looks like the Fiat 500 and the back as a Smart car (well according to stiggy and me) We saw it at that huge new shopping centre while waiting for Richard.

Better then the inside of the IQ. If that would have been the inside of the IQ I would have bought it.

And the seats in that spec are staggeringly comfy. They are both lovely, lovely cars to be in. So hard to choose between the two, though there's no ASBO Ka, so the 500 wins on account of the Abarth Esseesse that comes out early in the new year *evilgrin* Actually, I want the interior of the Fiat 500 Sport in the Ka Zetec

I think it made me want to do exactly that to the person saying it at the time. But yes, it made the car even more adorable and I don't thik I'd be able to drive one without hearing it ;D
