Another little complaint from me. I'd like to throw in savings in health care!! After the New Year, ten assistant nurses and 18 nurses have to go from the oncology clinic at the hospital I work at when they don't get extended temporary position or get a permanent position which means that they have to close a department down. Entirely! So they will go from four departments to three. Which makes that eighteen hospital beds on the oncology clinic disappears. How would this benefit patients in the long term??? I just work extra shifts alongside my studies at the moment. Sorry if I seem very angry thees days...

I actually think they should be ashamed! Everything is about money! Were gonna end up with patients that may not receive the care they need. It's impossible to defend a health care when it works in this way... Let's not forget that it's still human beings were dealing with! It's not machines or things without feelings that we can throw away when it doesn't work!
Well machines can be fixed but you know what I mean....

In the US, they would cut the staff, keep the beds open, and expect the remaining staff to do twice the work in the same amount of time (and for the same pay).

It doesn't mean that its right. The staff will probably get sick in the end because of it. It just irritates me that they don't think longer than a few months at the time. People don't get less sick because of these cutbacks.

My husband called his physician today in DC to get an appointment, and learned with horror that the practice is closing as of the end of 2012. He was told that perhaps the major reason for closing, besides the facts that the rent was going to rise dramatically and the doctors themselves are ready to retire, was that they spent all their time filling out forms and fighting the insurance companies. The receptionist also told him that a lot of doctors now refuse to accept any insurance; it's cash only, and you can submit the bill to your insurance company. Good luck with that! Maybe you'll recover 20% of the costs. Welcome to 21st century America.

Boutique Dr offices too where you join up like a club or something. However you feel about health care reform I think everyone agrees that it's broken and needs fixing.

I'm binning the new improved version of Photobucket. It's rearranged all my pictures and albums and I can't find a blasted thing.

Insomnia, Ive been up for well over an hour. Rather than lie in bed and think too much I thought I get myself a cuppa and fiddle with my toy (my iPad that is!).
At least it means I post on here for a change.
Been surfing the web (some disappointing stuff on there), playing my magic piano and a couple of other silly games that keep me diverted from real life. I might stick the headphones on shortly and listen to some music.

*comes in*
*drops husband into bin*
*slams lid down*
*puts big rock on top of bin lid*
*walks off to enjoy some alcohol and hopefully a nice quiet night*
ARRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
I don't know if there's something in the water, or he started doing drugs, but my normally great guy of a husband has just INSISTED on being an insensitive selfish childish clod for the past week and I'm about to strangle him.
I don't know. I think a decent chunk of it is his fault, but I am also so bleeping stressed out I'm having a hard time telling.
I suppose it would be a step up if he could help me un-stress instead of the exact opposite though. *sigh*

Ah, the husband in the bin. That sounds like a good place to keep them for the time being. Hope yours comes to his senses soon, meimichan.

I have never been married but I would think taking papers to you is a minor errand and then she can get back to Facebook etc. Maybe she will show up unexpectedly.

We are now 13 years together and she never liked me because my parents aren't that rich as they are Oh, I know that experience. Not fancy enough for mummy's little boy. My favorite is when they tell you about all the women he could have married. Sigh, I wish I understood "family". They never fail to disappoint. My solution has been to be who I am around them and expect nothing from them..ever. My husband married me as I was and he's still happy.

I want to put in here, people that THINK they're being helpful when they're not being anything like it. Specifically, the guy who did my back in last Friday. Some background info for you all. I live in a tiny village that has a railway station, with two trains per hour (one in each direction). To get to the southbound platform, I have to cross a footbridge. The staion is unmanned, as this is a tiny quiet place, and outside of rush hour, often there are only about 2 or 3 people catching each train. Naturally these days, when I go out, I have a pushchair with a very well grown baby in it ;D And when I have to go southbound, I have to bump the pushchair over the footbridge. It's no biggie, really. She likes bumping in the chair, and I know I'm quite tiny but I can easily manage it. People generally ask if I want a hand and unless I'm in a mighty hurry, I always say, No thank you. This guy though, really annoyed me. I was bumping happily up the bridge last Friday when he took off from the platform (the one I was heading to) in a tearing hurry and ran over the bridge. I thought he must have suddenly realised that he'd left something in his car. But when he got level with me, without saying a word to me, he bent down and heaved the front of the pushchair into the air to *help* me carry it up the rest of the steps. My back was bent slightly as I was moving, and the sudden change of angle required didn't come quick enough, because I wasn't expecting to need to change my angle. The result of this was a sudden searing pain in my back, which I still have 4 days later. I almost dropped my end of the pushchair and kind-of howled at him. Seriously, guy! ASK before you do something like that! Unless things get better, I won't be going anywhere this week, cos you can bet that even if I did hobble round to the station, when I get there there would probably not be anyone waiting to catch the train this time, and I won't be able to manage on my own with my back hurting this much. My only option really now, is to catch the train going north and change direction at the next station which has lifts as it's a manned station. But this will take an extra half an hour Not impressed.

Oh dear, that's really unfortunate Daisy. I know what you mean about the angle of your back - mine is very prone to damage in a small arc of "bentness" if you know what I mean. The guy meant well, but he really should have asked first, if only to give you some warning. Hope it gets better soon. Don't suppose we can have an updated pic of the well-grown bub, eh?? ;D

Just finished filling out my calender for the little bit that is left of this year. For the next 41 days, something is scheduled everyday. I'm a little overwhelmed just looking at it. Hate this time of year.
