A widget is a little piece of software for Windows Vista or Macs that go on to the desktop and then up date automatically. A desktop gadget. There is one on TG site that has a quote of the day by Jeremy and a picture. Or it could be a calendar, analogue clock, piano keyboard the sky is the limit. www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-vista/features/sidebar-gadgets.aspx this should help

A widget is a mini computer application with a specific purpose. In this case, it's an alternative to an RSS feed for sending updates about Top Gear from their website to yours (or to your desktop) if you have a page on e.g. Facebook or MySpace (not sure if it would work on LJ - might try it just to see). Whereas with an RSS feed you get a simple notification of updates, with the widget, it places a mini-webpage within yours, updated with the latest information from the site it ties into. I would try downloading the TG one to see how it works, but it seems to have got lost in the TG.com relaunch

Yes, I know now, they used, well I used to know them as desktop buddies.
Does anyone have the TG widget?
