Bringing this over from the thread on the original "controversy". BREAKING NEWS: In a shock move, common sense breaks out at Ofcom! news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7771497.stmApparently, Ofcom ruled Clarkson "was clearly using exaggeration to make a joke". According to the BBC News website, "Ofcom did not believe the intention of the comments could be seen to imply that all lorry drivers murder prostitutes, nor would it be reasonable to make such an inference," the watchdog said.
"In Ofcom's view, the presenter was clearly using exaggeration to make a joke, albeit not to everyone's taste. The comments should therefore be seen in that context."
Ofcom added it considered the majority of the audience would have understood Clarkson's comments as being made for comic effect, and were in keeping with what would normally be expected from him on the show.
This leaves the way clear for the outraged members of the Morris Marina Owner's Club to complain about the 'Commie Cars' segment  |

Yep, nice to see justice done at last.... I won't hold my breath until the next time someone takes offence, I'm still surprised he got away with the apparent advocating breaking the speed limit on the One Show, and even his real fur hat on Sunday's ep?? |

I hope Clarkson uses his famous opinions. He shouldn't get suspended. My dad said he ought to be like Ross and Brand but I'm my own dad. Clarkson deserves to be on TG. He's famous, for Pete's Sakes.
