I can't believe it. I just clicked on the link for Thundersprint, thinking it can't possibly be the same one they hold in the town where I live - but it is!!!! Who would have thought a small place such as Northwich could attract James May. I'm not into bikes but I guess I will make my way down there this year to have a nosy

Hi starfish if you just above at XJsarah's post there is a link which explains a bit, for the last few years James has attended this, it's a bike thing and our Mr May rides one of his bikes, as I understand it's a laugh and a good day out and some of the ladies are intending to go, but not me sadly, or a lucky escape for them ;D

It's in Northwich on 10th & 11th May. From what I can gather, there's a classic bike show on the Saturday & some racing on the Sunday. Some of us are staying in the Floatel for a couple of nights, so that's the place to book into - make sure you tell them you want the special Thundersprint rates though! Even if James doesn't make a appearance, it will be a good weekend away and a laugh getting to meet up with some of the other people on here. Lew it would be great if you could make it & we'll miss you if you can't. Can we borrow the coat though.....

my god a weekend just watching motorbikes. This is when I wished I could drive. Northwich is not that far from me. And the thoughts of seeing James if he turns up would be spectacular. I'd like to roll on May, James May...... and in June, and the rest of the year would be nice too.

Only seen him on the Sunday but he'd have to be there Saturday night at least as it's an early start for the riders on Sunday, practice, etc.. And yes it was easy to see James and get his autograph, well it was last year ;D

There's a number of us going Starfish so when you get there you won't be left on your own at all. I've booked a single room though as I like my privacy and I might get lucky with a biker.

Agree with lymaze, starfish. I've booked a single room too (if James turns up he's going to be busy ;D ) but there's a few of us done the same and we should have a laugh. Get a room booked and join in ;D

I've booked a twin room with XJ as we're both too poor to splash out on a single (get the violins out) but once we're there we can all meet up in the bar & keep each other company.
Wasn't someone looking for a room-mate on page 1 of this thread? Was it Wyvern?

He's nothing to worry about. Some of us have already met and got on very well over pizza and wine. I think we're quite safe - a bit bonkers maybe but not in the weird cult brainwash you lock you in a room for ten years sort of a way. Well not me anyway. ;D

I've never locked anyone up and brainwashed them... yet... However, I have done meet-ups with other boards I've belonged to and they've been wonderful fun

I'm hoping to get to Thundersport, not quite sure what I'll do when I get there mind you cos I wont know what I'm looking for. Perhaps we should have some tshirts printed with something to do with James on it?
