LOL - minibuses. is Jezza the driver? Just a thought..... remember the TG ep when Richard and James had those little bikes and drove the people home in their own cars? Maybe we should bring our cars and then James could drive us to the NC.

Hmmmm - good fun but with a very serious underbelly (underbelly? OOOERRR). Mrs Ts theories won't work on petrol me thinks. It will have to get to astronomical prices before people give up driving their own vehicles with the less wealthy having to give up first - and that day will come........
....the only time market forces will come into play is when proper viable alternatives are available.

I suspect that in these times of austerity,James won't get that much sympathy from some of his correspondents. NB: we only own one car and three push bikes. *feels jealous*

I giggled like a loon reading that one. ;D My husband and I share one car, he usually takes it to his job 40 miles away. Which does leave me at home without a car, but I can walk or take the bus around town fairly easily...can't wait til my friend drops off that bike for me in April. I do kinda want the car now though...got some more art supplies to buy, mostly paper, and I am not going to buy expensive sheets of paper and take those on the bus. No effing way. Some things you just need a car for.

I have sympathy for you James, but I cannot sympathize. They are slightly different. I've never owned a car, nor have I had to get one licensed, registered, inspected and so on. MOH takes care of the company vehicle, I just write the checks. But, one day I would like to have the headache of trying to remember what month my registration is up and worrying whether or not my car will pass inspection. ;D

That made me laugh. I'd love to see the Noddy costume pic. ;D I remember getting a bit embarrassed when I won a prize at a fancy dress party. I went as the Stig. ;D Good thing my face was completely covered up, no one could see me blushing!

No news is good news, I suppose. Or is it the other way around?!
I put a comment on (with a photo) about Purdey the GT6, simply because some of the regulars were commenting on what nice cars they are.

I was so happy when someone posted that they had one. That's my all time favorite! Esscoss and I [I'm missyp on the Telegraph] enjoyed a discussion about cars on Saturday. Brought back many memories. I have to find a GT6 someday.

Brought back many memories. I have to find a GT6 someday. I didn't realise that was you! There have been far more conversations actually about cars on the comments section of James' column over the past few weeks, which can only be a good thing! And yes, it's a lovely car, both to look at and to drive. Can I just indulge Snowsunflower and myself one further time? Recent pic by the river (though she does look as if she's got a lifebuoy sticking out of her roof!)

[yes yes, one more little moment of indulgence please *squeal*]
Oh dit! You are one lucky babe! Beautiful! That car makes me swoon! There's only one other car that does that to me and it's 1967-70 Toyota 2000 GT.
And yes, I'm very happy when folks talk about cars over there!
Thanks for posting that pic! [lol I can't stop staring at it ;D]

If James tried to feed me octopus foam, I'd have to say, "I'm not eating that, sorry, I don't care how much I lust over you [oh did I say that out loud? oops], I ain't eating octopus foam!" [drawing a line in the sand]
