In the article it says
'Ronaldo's Ferrari is among a fleet of cars he owns that are worth around £2 million.
His other cars include a Bentley Continental GT Speed and a Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe. He also has two Porsche Cayennes and a BMW M6. '

Also this is what was said about his team mate en route to their training ground.
'It is understood that at the time of the crash Ronaldo's red 599 GTB, on Portuguese registration plates, was just ahead of the Bentley Continental being driven by his team mate, Edwin van der Saar.'

It's quite broken, isn't it?
Funnily enough, even though I'm not the world's biggest Ferrari fan, being more of a Lambo girl myself, I have to admit I felt more sorry for the car than for the bloke driving it.

It's like when Jeremy said about when Concorde crashed... it's the first time people had cared more about the aircraft??

The thing is - and understand I am in no way putting a machine above the value of a human life - there are lots of boring footballers with more horsepower than sense, but not many Ferraris. Of course, I'd think differently if he'd been hurt or worse in the accident, but he wasn't, and he destroyed a magnificent piece of engineering in the process. I agree with the point Richard Hammond made about this, funnily enough - people need to learn how to handle cars like this before they buy them, or they just end up wrapping them around walls.

Apparently, according to a Derby fan in my house, he crashed because of the tears in his eyes after Derby thrashed Man UTD ! - Let me just add that I cant stand football - the English teams are all full of unpronouncable foreign names.

Money doesn't buy you sense, or enable you to be able to handle a powerful car like that. What an arse

Wy, I agree with everything you've said. A high performance car like that should always be approached and handled with care and respect. Evidently, this particular car has not been treated as such, and that's what annoys me most of all about this incident.
