Thanks, UM! You are a doll!
(oh, and Jezza, please send some of that cold, fire-lighting weather to me, it's 90+ where I am, the front lawn is dying, and my plants are wilting like swooning Regency romance heroines

Wherever do you live?! The surface of the sun? It is our 'Summer' here in Ulster, and if the temperature goes above 10 - 15 degrees I think I am melting! t was in the early to mid 20s today. It did rain though.

It sure feels like the surface of the sun!! but actually it's south Louisiana.
When I use the metric conversion at weather.com, it tells me it's 34 degrees, but feels like 37 degrees. No rain in the forecast. Thank goodness for working air conditioning and ceiling fans!!

Yes! If it gets really hot here, mid to late 20s, I switch on my fan. After I have stuck my chest in the freezer.

No rain in the forecast. Thank goodness for working air conditioning and ceiling fans!! In the summer just past we had 40 degree plus days for 10 days straight, it got to 46/47 for a while and when it hit 38 we thought it was "cooling" so I feel your pain.

I can't begin to imagine what that would be like! It is about 22 or 23 degrees here today, I feel like I am going to pass out from the heat, I cannot begin to contemplate what things are like for you. When we get daily temps of 22 and up, we think that it is very hot, well I do anyway, I have never been able to cope with the heat.

I think eventually you get used to it but it's still not much fun. At the moment we are in winter so are getting tops of 16/17 and its freezing lol I would prefer the cooler weather as I am pale and dont tan/burn easily so I think I am more suited to the UK then Australia in that respect.

You think 16 is freezing?! I think that 16 is almost boiling point!! In our winters here, on the part of the coastline I live on, it can get very cold, down to 4 or 5 degrees. I like that. That is nice and cool, esp if it is not raining all that much, though I don't mind the rain, you can walk for miles and not get over hot and uncomfortable, it's terribly pleasant.

If, in January, it gets to over 30 C, it's a good summer day. Usually doesn't go below 25. At least in Sydney, anyway As for winter temps here, it's about 2pm and 15 C. Pretty nice, all things considered Just my 2c re weather. I expect to be freezing the proverbials off when I get to the UK, eventually
