James has found a way to play with his Scalextric set for charity. ;D He's become involved with Scalextric4schools whose challenge is to inspire students to consider Science and Engineering related subjects for Higher Education and as a future career. Good for him! More info hereEdit: url is okay now.

Am sorry for pointing this out seeing as I am a newcomer to this site, but when I click on the link I get something called MCN and don't see anything about Scalextric.

Yeah, he would make an excellent teacher and he does. When he makes his other shows, he can educate the world, not just a few hundred people in one building.

I think it's brilliant, well done James, now if he has time and could do a freebie for my son's school , which is a science and technology college........it would be ace , sadly Ford's no longer sponsor (crispy crunch), and the secondary education sector are finding it increasingly hard to find capable teachers in these fields

Great find and thanks for posting. He'd really be a perfect teacher, wouldn't he? He reminds me of my old physics teacher. In the very last class we had, he said: "Ok, you are all about to take your A-level exam and you are all ready for it. Now, how many of you know how to change a plug?" Only about three hands went up. "That's what I thought. Now in this last class, let me teach you something that for most of you is going to be more useful in the rest of your life than everything else I taught you in the last six years." So he handed out plugs and screwdrivers and he showed us how to do it. It has come in very useful indeed. ;D

Very good article OTWOL. I think it's great that he wants to get involved. I think he'd make a great teacher too, because he explains things in an easy-to-understand fashion.

Seeing as May has now joined my compost heap ;D thought I'd better bump this.....I have to say good comp, but sadly it'll be for those schools which have the money (even state schools)...and the bottom end, will have to struggle with other issuses.....
