*winces* Wasp stings hurt like hell. I've been got before, but I'm not allergic to them. Poor old Jezza.

Poor sweety. I hates wasps. I got stung by five of them when I was four years old and that was horrible. I hope he starts feeling better soon too.

Poor Jeremy (but he does look oddly sexy with that sling). And the stubble too... what was I saying? Ah, yes, I'm supposed to be sympathising, not lusting. Ah, I can multitask. I got stung by a hornet when I was very little. I'd just had a bath and mum let me into the garden with no pants on. I didn't see there was a hornet on my trike, and I sat down... and let's just say there are very few people who've been as intimate as that hornet was

The photo in the second article looks like a European Wasp! Ironic I suppose. My friend was stung by one of those and her arm went black. They are mean little buggers. Lucky for Jeremy it didn't have any friends around!

Someone of FG found this.
Wasps are vindictive. Pretty well every creature will attack when it’s hungry or threatened whereas a wasp will attack if you’ve annoyed it in some way. Local councils, which tend to be staffed by animal loving eco- mentalists, are for ever producing leaflets portraying the wasp as a benign part of the British summer — a sort of airborne nettle — forgetting perhaps that each year wasps kill more people than sharks, alligators, lightning, scorpions, jellyfish and spiders combined."
From a timesonline Clarkson column (September 2004) theorising that wasps were sent here by aliens to achieve world domination. The wasp strikes back<g>

Poor Jezza. At least he wasn't stung in the arse like I was. Now, I think the media would have a field day if that happened to him. I hate the media at the moment, bunch of tw*ts

I hate the media at the moment, bunch of tw*ts If you swapped a couple of key words over in that post, you'd have what happened to me when I sat on a hornet with no undies on (I don't make a habit of these things, I was only a toddler at the time).

I got stung on the head once after a wasp got caught in my hair (it was the eighties, hence HUGE hair) By the time my mum had put every "old wives tale" remedy on it I looked like something resembling a cake mix! ;D

Those are some of the worst stings, Jacqui. Sorry that happened to you. I got stung right in the back of my head while I was walking through my old neighbourhood during a very strong, windy day. At first, it felt like someone had thrown a rock at my head, but I pulled a dead bumble bee out of my hair.

I was about six when my mum got stung just under her one remaining good eye (she's totally blind in the other one) by a wasp, and her face came right up, and her eye closed. I had to lead her home by the hand, telling her where all the kerbstones and bumps in the road were. These days, I'd probably have been taken into care following that incident, as it looked like she was a tad drunk, being led along by a small girl ;D

I put my hand on a wasp when I was climbing on something when I was a child, and I am slightly allergic to bees so it wasnt pretty - the buggers hurt!
