Likewise... I wouldn't have noticed if it hadn't been pointed out because it's so not his way of doing things - and if he signs himself by one name only, it's usually "May" ;D

There's a lot of weird people around who like to pretend/fantasize they can write like James. Luckily there's only one who can really do it.

Looks to me like just A N Other James. He doesn't have an exclusive on the name, after all.

There's a lot of weird people around who like to pretend/fantasize they can write like James. Luckily there's only one who can really do it. It's only a half-hearted (incompetent?) attempt at deception, if indeed that's what it is. Perhaps the mods read it as advice to our ( ) James on where to visit, and that's why they let it through.

Great column as usual. Is it autumn yet? I want to see that programme. I love it when James talks science. Many many many moons ago I did my A-levels in both Physics and Chemistry and I always wish I had been a bit better in them and could have gone on to uni to study anything techny. Well, Media Studies wasn't bad either. ;D

Woo hoo, a few of us have comments up!
I'm re-reading Kingsley Amis's The Green Man at the moment so I had to comment. Spooky - you certainly wouldn't want to upset him. Has anyone ever read it? Wyvern, perhaps?

Dutchdiva, beware that Biritsh newspapers often have an overseas editions, so I would make sure before you buy it, it has the Motoring section in it. (And why would you buy it, if the column is on-line already? They can be quite expensive.)

My sister lives in Nederland, Dutchdiva, usually the magazine is missing from the Telegraph but she hasn't ever mentioned the Motoring section being missing? (And I know she likes James too . We have good taste in our family )

All I can say is that I'd rather have my fiesta ove an Aston, any day Much as I like my car-sharing Peugeot 107, I might be persuaded to trade it for an Aston. I'm sure I would look much better in it. ;D

awww the poor lad! to give him credit, he is a middle aged MAN who isnt gay. So automatically, that means he shouldnt have been born with dress sense or aquired any either. considering those social criteria, he aint doing too badly in my opinion! Although the beige linen jacket needs to go... my dad has one too.

I agree too, but I don't agree that it has to be beautiful. Unique, that's what it should be. Not like mine, old, common but loveable xD
