Socks and socks and socks and socks. Poor Jezza. Wonder who bought him the Merc. Still, he's easy to buy for. I shall start investing in some M & S size 9s for next Xmas. ;D

I have to agree Ly, trouble is very good friend and fellow school governor, goes there for treatment of her breast cancer, so I hope and I can't bring myself to ask if it'll be ok still to go there the local hospital cocked up her treatment and I think if she went back, she'll lose the will to live

I think nuclear is the only way forward I'm afraid. For the time being at least. We're running out of everything else and, pretty as they are (sorry I have always liked windmills and the like) they're dreadful things wind farms. If what Jeremy is saying is correct, they don't provide much power anyway and they do destroy a lot of wilderness and bird life.

We did have a class in school once where we learned 101 meals you can make with mince - well it was in Scotland. I also got taught how to wire a plug and we did "current affairs" in modern studies and also sometimes in Religious Education.
Having talked to my old english teacher a while ago she feels the problem is now everything's so results focused that they can't teach pupils just to enjoy the topic and form their own views they have to focus on giving them enough information to get past the exams.
I have just written the equivalent of an "in my day" post there haven't I? *feels old*

Lew, I agree, I hear from my mates in the UK, and its all changed so much even from when I started (with my lamp !!) But its not just the nurses, it falls to everyones basic standards being better, and its sad how far things have slipped. Its not much better here, there ideas of 'infection control' make me cringe!!! *steps off soap box*
