Could be something to do with the program that changes s.n.i.g.g.e.r.s to sblackpersons. I kid you not - I posted about it on another thread, though I can't remember where just at the moment. Apparently the word p.o.o.n is a rude slang word for a lady's bits (though I have never heard it myself before, I just looked it up in the Urban Dictionary)

That red thing looks like a tea dispenser - my grandmother used to have one. It measures out one sthingyful of tea leaves at each press of the button! A very old item from The Gadget Show of Feb 1963 ;D Thanx for the heads up Flatin5th ;D That's a pretty cool gadget - especially for a man such as James who loves his tea so much!

I'm all for refraining from swearing and using racists language, but they even change the word v.a.g.i.n.a into "girl's thingy". Good thing, this is not a support group for abused women or women wo suffer form cervical cancer.

Yeah, po'on is slang for girly bits, at least here in the states, with connotation of sex, as in "I can't get any po'on. My girlfriend won't give up the po.on."

I have one of those! It took two years of scouring eBay to find a decent one. I love tea too ;D

Bit off topic I know (sorry) but only last week TOH broke a bowl into 4 very clean distinct parts. He asked me if I thought I could glue it back together. I refrained from saying "you mean like James May's tectonic plate" but I did laugh to myself !!! LOL!! ;D ;D ;D

I see he is up against Pierced Organ and Louis Theroux. If Pierced wins, it will be a travesty

The BAFTA nominations are out and Toy Stories has been nominated in the Features category It's up against The Choir, Heston's Feasts and Masterchef: The Professionals, so tough competition (The Choir has been very successful), but I'm sure everyone who volunteered for the various projects is going to be as chuffed as I am that the show has been nominated.

Woo and it would be nice for him to win but it really tough. The Choir won this last year IIRC.

Oh. Pooh. Why does it have to go up against good things? I like Heston and James.

Sorry to 'bump' but I've just finished watching the Airfix episode on BBC2 - they're repeating the series. I've just got to say that the people who decided the BAFTA winners must be mad. Seeing it again, there's so much in it; it's packed with facts, and detail, and humour, and warmth, and emotion, and tension, and family values and....well, it goes on and on. James would have made an excellent teacher; he doesn't patronise the kids but talks to them realistically.
And I'll say it again - all this was beaten by a cookery programme? Pah!

Toy Stories is also airing in the US on BBC America- Mondays 10pm. I have no idea why BBC America continually makes stupid decisions regarding its programming. Toy Stories is meant to be watched by families, yet BBC America scheduled it at 10pm?!
I hate BBC America, even though it airs my favorite British shows. BBC America fails at everything.

100% agree, dit! I am still making my way through all the Toy Stories episodes but love James' interaction with the kids in the Airfix show. Especially as he doesn't have kids himself!!

I am loving the show myself. 10 p.m. is fine with Matthew and myself, it comes on after he has band camp. ( two weeks of marching pratice and drumline pratice for football halftime) P.S It's summer break anyway. Just glad to get the program

Bumping again but it's relevant - this is part of an article in the Telegraph finance section today.
"Hornby shares have slumped 14pc after the group issued a profit warning. The company said it would miss full-year expectations because of a slowdown in sales before Christmas. As with other retailers, Hornby has blamed the snow.
This is particularly disappointing as everything seemed to be going well for the owner of the Hornby railway, Airfix and Scalextric brands in the first half of the year. In its interim update the company said that sales in the UK had shown good growth compared to the previous year.
Starting in October 2009, there was increased focus on the company following BBC series Toy Stories, hosted by the Daily Telegraph columnist and Top Gear presenter James May. This brought model railways and Airfix models to a new generation – boosting sentiment around the shares. Alas the positivity appears not to have lasted."
Which is a shame.

Very impressive indeed. I have all my son's Lego and Lego sets stored in the attic, I wonder if I can construct a project of my own.

I will have to dust off the boxes, but I bet I could construct something grand. I was bought my first Lego set for my six birthday which was many, many, many, many, moons ago. It was a garage with two Lego cars. Lego was in its infancy back then.
