Top Gear fan’s £22k phone bill
Jeremy Clarkson has helped a man to rack up a £21,716 phone bill - only it wasn’t Clarkson’s fault.
Will Pierce went on holiday with his son to the French Alps and decided that a spot of Top Gear would make better viewing than rubbish hotel TV.
Using his Vodafone data card, he fired up the internet and downloaded some priceless Top Gear telly. Well, we say priceless, when he got home the phone bill read £5k an episode.
Yep, that's a £22k bill for a bit of Après-ski with JC and the boys. Ouch. We're good, Will, but not that good.
Vodafone has since agreed to waive all charges, but have urged people to check their price plans before they start downloading telly while abroad.
The shock must have been painful enough, though, so if you’re readying this Will, give us a shout and we’ll sort you and your son out with a t-shirt each.
You’ll need to provide a copy of the bill as proof though...
LOL ;D

I read that or heard that somewhere too. OMG! What an odd story! I don't get why people are that silly as to not realise that things like that will be pricey! Funny story though!

I saw this on FG. I am surprise people are still falling in to this trap. I could understand when the D/L service first came out but this is the third story like this i have read. But the EU should be looking at the phone company's charges and the phone company's should have a warning come up on the phone telling the customer this D/L will bankrupt you. But at least he's got taste.
