I think it's been trimmed looking at the photos on HH from Wednesday. Actually looks quite tousled and well conditioned.

Watching 20th Century is showing me why I appreciate James all over again. His reaction to the flight in the Typhoon... *sigh*
Mind you, his hair is a continuity person's nightmare!

Mind you, his hair is a continuity person's nightmare! Ain't that the truth - that's often noticeable on Top Gear too! I absolutely love these programmes. I didn't get to see them when they were on BBC2 and, not having Sky, I too spent ages downloading them. I'm so glad I did though. I'd seen them several times online and I just had to get hold of them somehow. I love the "Boy's Own" way he presents them, and his flight in the Typhoon was sheer joy to behold. I seem to recall Clarkson was throwing up before they'd got off the ground (well, almost ;D).... Don't you just love the fact that there's a side to James that has never really grown up? That childlike enthusiasm and excitement is extremely engaging. Sorry, I went all Sesame Street there. "Today's show is being presented by the letter E....." ;D

Don't you just love the fact that there's a side to James that has never really grown up? That childlike enthusiasm and excitement is extremely engaging. I think to an extent all of the TG3 are a little like that, but I think it comes through most of all in James because somehow there's an innocence - I'm not sure that's the right word, but it's the closest I can think of having not long woken up - to his enthusiasm that is utterly charming. It's like when he asks for a printout of his brain, or when he looks at his "self-portrait" and says he thought it would be "more helixy". I love that there is a refreshing lack of cynicism. Aww

Beautifully put Wyvern - I couldn't agree more. When James had his brain scanned and the lady told him he had a very big one (brain, that is!! ) he turned fleetingly to the camera with a lovely grin and that's another example of what we're talking about. That sort of innocence - and I can't think of a better word either off hand - is one of his most attractive characteristics IMHO, and that's saying something when there are so many. I think his boyish enthusiasm is less "in your face" than the other two on TG, although I love it in them as well. There's a side of me that refuses to grow up and I suppose that's why I gravitate towards that in other people.
