I've been trying to find some reasonably priced accommodation down there. As I understand it,the entry fee includes a free second visit if you go back within the same week. My family are currently unaware that the reason I'm so keen to go to the New Forest this year is because of the Top Gear connection!

Why couldn't it have opened a week earlier? It would have fitted a little plan I have been hatching perfectly! But I'm already booked up for a Very Important Birthday Party on 19th June.

Oh yes, I'll go at some point, it's just that I was vaguely thinking of going down that way this weekend anyway! It might have to wait until August now.

CONTAINS SPOILERSI have been to the TG expo today at Beaulieu ;D I love getting soaked me Anyway, was it worth the two hour drive there and the three hour drive home? If I'm really honest.....no. Sorry ladies. Yes it was great to see the cars, you're not aloud to touch obviously but you can peer in through the windows and reminisce My favorite was the polar 4X4 inclusive of toilet seat on the back, pictures really came in to my head I can tell you ;D The ten minute film they show is very funny, TG3 banter at its best ;D, but its all over too quickly. Would I say go and see it? Yes if you're down that way, see it as part of visiting the splendor that is the New Forrest ;D If you're planning a special trip just to see the TG bit, then no. The rest of Bealieu is fantastic though, if you are on to cars and motoring as well as TG ;D and it was good to see some of the cars the boys had a go on in their "What was the first car...." piece. Having said that, seeing James with his face painted like he's just come home from a children's party was worth getting absolutely drenched for ;D

Sounds like fun Thanks for that, Jacqui. I'm a bit of an old car nut anyway, so maybe it'll be worth the trip. Any idea if/when the exhibition is going to end, or is it a permanent fixture there?

I wish I had known about this earler - I could have combined it with my annual trip to the Goodwood Festival of Speed - what a weekend that could have been

Looks like I might get to see this in a couple of weeks - I'm going to Poole with New Man to visit his Mum and to see a couple of my friends so we'll probably stop there on the way back. There's a ruined abbey there as well, which looks interesting (to us, at least...).
