That is a really lovely description of the garden. Jane McAdam-Freud is doing the sculpture (which is what that weird blobby thing at the front is), which is quite exciting. Expect a few little changes from the original illustration though Glad to see Help For Heroes has a garden too

I'm really looking forward to the flower show. Sadly I only have an evening ticket, and three hours isn't very long, but I shall definitely make time to see the plasticine garden and the Help for Heroes one. I just hope the weather gets better in the next few days - it can't be pleasant for the garden designers trying to make plants behave in the rain and wind.

You are like me in that respect, at least you have a go!!

Utterly confused at where to post this now. In the News thread, Toy Stories thread, here? Anyhoo, he's getting some nice up front publicity! Article from the GuardianJames May is a man more accustomed to washing oil than soil from his hands, and more used to being stung by Jeremy Clarkson's tongue than by nettles. ;D

Aww, thanks for that Linden. The weeny flowers look so cute!
I did post a comment, I doubt it will get published, I got a bit ranty. Here is what I wrote;
To all you so-called 'experts'. This is just a bit of fun and if you can't see that for yourselves, you are even more stupid than I gave you credit for. Grow up, shut up and leave the man alone. He did a fabulous job on that garden, worked bloody hard at it too and it looks fab! Go James! Big LoveXX

Can't believe people are moaning about it its just a bit of fun. Wasn't there a garden with no plants in it one year? Just had some concrete and a water feature.

Very probably, I think that because James isn't a 'gardener' or whatever, maybe that is why they are getting so sh*tty about things. James' garden will be one of the best there and if all the 'experts' can't see that, they are morons! Go James!!

Gardener May toiled in the hot Summer heat, occassionally pausing to wipe the sweat from his brow. He undid a couple of buttons on his shirt to reveal a moist, muscular chest and as he carried on digging, the Lady of the Manor watched on and her mind started to drift off into an erotic daydream.

I am enjoying the fact that so many people are getting their knickers in a knot because clearly they don't know fun if it smack them in the face. It's shows that some people don't have imagination and disregard the fact that people have spent hours and hours and hours putting it together.
If they don't like it they at least appreciate that it's a one off bonkers spectacle which has created a talking point and will hopefully encourage children to try and recreate it on a smaller scale.
