Most of the damage is at the front, I think people have been taking 'souvenirs'... it broke my heart! And a few of the apples have fallen from the tree

People have been taking the flowers? Now that's right annoyed me, that has. I thought there was supposed to be somebody to keep an eye on it there - but saying that, I saw nobody doing that when I went. People are horrible sometimes. All that work that went into it, and people might have been just pinching flowers to take home *speechless*

Hopefully at its new home it will be behind something.

I did hope I was mistaken, but the distant flowers were still intact, it's just the very front that has some damage, so it couldn't really be anything else

That's awful!! It's theft, pure and simple. It's a shame that there isn't someone there to keep watch on things and stop people from taking them.

Maybe you should take some fresh plasticine, just in case?

You could make something flat instead of erect.

You could make something flat instead of erect. Oo-er missus Knowing my dreadful sort of luck, I'd get told off for doing that though - seeing as a thousand people DON'T get seen taking stuff away, that's exactly how it would work.

Aww, it would be, and it is, an awful shame that everyone who helped, wen to so much trouble and then people just go and take things away, that's just wrong.

I don't want to be arrested for carrying a loaded gun though ;D TOH is the one with the licence - I've only ever fired a catapult before.

well if you fired a lump o' plasticine from a catapult?.... I mean, it aint exactly a brick or a bullet is it an' if they Really want some plasticine as a souvenir...... a lump around the lughole might be just what they need. I'm hoping to be seeing the garden tomorrow with a pal, though we might be in a bigger state of collapse with the heat than the garden. Sorry i may not see ole pals from the garden. I havent any plasticine, but I have got some wire.

Ooh! the garden has been moved up here to Derbyshire - Sudbury Hall, which has a 'Museum of Childhood'. I might get to see it yet!

When I saw it at the RFH a couple of weeks ago it looked fine. I don't know if plasticine really dries out. Doesn't it last forever? Glad it has a new home. Is this one permanent?

It should be relatively easy to spruce up provided they work as they go... And they have! I just found a video of the garden being rebuilt - www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kw_Sk9RrDvkI recognise the lad with the curly hair from the studio. It's in safe hands ;D

Wow. This garden should be heading for Europe soon as an ambassador for plasticine.
