Where do I start…..other than where are my sunglasses Jeremy’s shirt is sponsored by Dyno Rod. And WOW. The preview film looks thoroughly exciting. I’ll come to the film later – the news as previous was very funny. The Lotus Evora – looked stunning and no wonder there had been so much excitement about it. Jeremy’s honest and testing car review got to the crux of how the car felt. He always has a way of making the viewer feel like they are sitting with him at the time. The Stig was unmasked! He is/was Michael Schmacher! I was hoping it would be Cliff Richard – the link in felt a bit odd but the interview was excitable and was nothing like any interview I’ve seen with Michael before . His final lap in the Liana was inspired. To drive that way shows he is a master of the machine. It was good to know that cameramen can run especially on the TG test track. The film was breath taking. It was brilliant. Going back to 1949 was a great idea and to see Jeremy do manual labour was a treat as was seeing the Steam train powering through the British countryside. As James said it was such a romantic wa to travel. I’m in love with the Jaguar XK120 it’s simply stunning and James’s road rages were spectacular. When he goes for someone, you know about it. The motorbike – the Black Shadow, Richard met his Lamborghini Countach. Clearly he shouldn’t have had his illusion broken but the bike did make a glorious noise. I thought the pacing of the film was perfect, the VO’s were spot on and the soundtrack was magic. I also liked the link to the second half of the film, very funny and particularly cheeky. James is a good sport. Welcome back Top Gear - I think even with the recession I doubt it that’ll affect it much. If the film on behind the scenes on the website was working at the time I'm writing this, I think it will add another dimension to the show and let people who've not been able to go can have an idea what it's like. The behind the scenes video on the site is genius. EDIT How could I forget the Ferrari FXX, how stunning was it? Thank goodness it beat the Gumpert to the top of the board, considering how far it came. Simply remarkable.

I loved James feeding Jeremy beer at the end of the film. I really liked this episode it was nice to see a diffrent side to James and nice to see him win. And sometimes i feel that in the studio James can be a bit over looked but i felt that they all got equal TV time. but that could just be me. lol I really liked that guy telling Jeremy to shovel faster if that was me i would probably would have hit the guy with my shovel.

For all non UK residents that want to to see the behind the scenes clips (and all other UK only clips at the Top Gear website): I present Woodoo's Magic Trick. (Woodoo being some clever dude over on Final Gear.)
What you do is bookmark any site, go to properties and then delete the url and paste this bit of javascript in:
javascript:eval($('#mainContent%20.feature%20script').html().replace('playerID','ttt').replace('adServerURL','ggg'));
Then whenever you play the video and the message "UK only" comes on, simply click on the bookmarked url and presto... you can watch the clip. ;D

I loved this ep. It was truly marvellous. That train is truly exquisit! I don't get weepy over telly shows but when there was an arial shot of the train wooshing through the greenness that was there and all the smoke that was chigging out of the chimney, it was beautiful to see, I almost shed a tear. James' car was glorious, suited him very well I think and poor Richard on that bike, he seemed to be enjoying it for the most part but them he developed cramp in his legs. Was it cramp or just pains? I can't tell. Michael Schumacher is living proof that the Germans can have a sense of humour! He came across as very amiable, a good laugh. It was good of him to dress up like that and then all the erratic driving at the end, that was a good laugh. One of my fave bits in the episode was when Jeremy put the piece of bacon on the shovel, put it into the fire and it got sucked up off the shovel and up into the chimney! That made me laugh so so much as did his expression when he tasted the fire cooked eggm he is a genius at face pulling. Richard living out his super hero fantasy on the bike, his comment of "I am stradling my boyhood hero!" was probably the best line in the film, and then all his saucy comments in the studio. Fab! Poor Jeremy was covered in dirt, and then James having to coax some life back into him again in the hotel that was a good bit too. I just can't help thinking how dirty was that wall when Jeremy removed himself from leaning against it? Wonderful episode, very much looking forward to the repeat!!

Deliberately didn't read this thread until I'd finished downloading the ep (thank god ) Loved the whole race, esp. the cooking on coal and Jeremy cough-throwing the egg sandwich out the window (and the bacon being whisked away!!). ;D I think I need to screencap the bit of James pulling Jeremy up to the beer glass. That was awesome. And of course the innuendo from Richard. I giggled. I don't think Schumacher is the Stig. I don't know about it being James' mum (although she does know what low profile tyres are/do, remember?). I think they've changed their DP for this series. Or are trying out some new shooting angles. Lots of high-speed camera shots (esp. in the Lotus bit) and wide-angle shots not used much before - techically I LOVE IT. /technical. Thought there could have been more news and less of Schumacher, but given it IS the British F1 this weekend, I guess it's rather apt. And I want to see Richard in that toy car. Seriously.
