I did not like this episode. It was fun but not as much as the other two. Only a 7 for me.

The ratings for last night's episode are in, thanks to UpyourEgo from FinalGear:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was another slight dip for Top Gear this week but on a very slight one seeing the show go down to 5.7m and a share of 25.3%.
But it still puts them as the most watched show in their timeslot with The Secret Caribbean with Trevor McDonald coming a distant second with 3.8m and a 16.9% share.
Top Gear was the second most watched show of the day - beaten by the Wimbledon coverage on BBC One - that took an audience of 7.1 million and an incredible share of 49.1% - nearly half of all televisions were set to Wimbeldon at around 6pm!
But for the BBC (as it isn't funded by advertising) the really important number is how it compares to other shows on the same network.
The second most watched show on BBC Two on Sunday night was 'On Thin Ice' with 2.8 million and a share of 12.1% - I think Top Gear did alright

I think with sky telling people that it was on at 8.30 might have effected viewing figures a bit.

Don't talk to me about Sky!!!! I set the reminder, saw that it had been moved to 8.30 so went to check me emails. Next thing I knew Jezza was talking to Michael McKintyre!!
Will have to watch on Wednesday now.

Yeah, in light of the time on the Sky menu, I went to phone a friend at 7.55, luckily they weren't in becuase I looked up, and Wimbledon was just finishing... I had to drop the phone, and pick up the DVD remote to record quickly, and then at 7.28 the 'this programme is about to start' message popped up on my screen, and ruined the recording! (amongst other recording slip-ups) Thank god it's repeated!

It's funny, but a lot of people on most of the websites I look at haven't been terribly keen on this episode - but I really loved it. I loved that it was scaled back a bit, mostly shot fairly locally (apart from Ken Block) and it just got back a bit to what Top Gear is at heart - a show about why people like cars, and not just the exotica. The road tests actually did have some - shock, horror - actual information in them and do you know something? What I really miss is TG driving normal cars on normal roads occasionally. Watching them driving and talking about trim quality, ride comfort, load space and performance... put it this way, it's information I can use, but it wasn't presented in a dry style. It probably wasn't an episode for people who watch for spectacle (apart from the Ken Block film, which was shot in a similar style to the latest gymkhana video, cutting between slo-mo and real time, so felt quite familiar, but it was well worth it for the look on James's face, in slo-mo, going over that last jump). But for people who've complained that it's all become too scripted and lacking in spontaneity, 'car sauna' should see them happy, because that was obviously the result of someone having a 'brilliant' idea And Jeremy's shirt went see-through when he poured the water over his head, which made me very happy indeed. I really like Michael McIntyre too. Always have. It was lovely to see him reduce Jeremy to tears of laughter.

Where Car Sauna was concerned, I don't know who I thought would 'crack' first, but I didn't think it would have been Jeremy. He looks all sexy when he's wet!

I enjoyed this episode but it didn't have quite the impact of the last two for some reason. Maybe it was a bit disjointed, or the challenge wasn't such a great one. I don't like Michael McIntyre - not sure why, but I went and did the washing up when he was on. James in the rally car was great but I found myself thinking why were they doing it. Maybe I was having a funny night. I'll watch it again though and see if I feel any different. I did like the Fiat 500's all parked along the road. I think it's incredible how they can get that done on a busy London street.

I agree with 'disjointed inky'... thinking back, it all seemed a little unstructured, like the car sauna, it felt as if they'd filmed the piece, and didn't know where to put it, so they encompassed it in the news, and built the link around it?

Car sauna was funny, but I was a tad concerned. They're all so damn competitive that I actually had visions of one of them getting heat stroke. Michael McIntyre was meh. Didn't much care for him, nor did I think he was particularly funny. He did put in an insane lap, though. Loved the Ken Block segment. Mad skillz aside, this was worth watching just for the cinematography and production values, not to mention the butt clenching, eyeball poppin' expression on James' face. Especially that last shot of them going over the ramp.
Come to think of it, I'm surprised he DIDN'T fill his shorts. The guy either has a brass set or excellent sphincter control.

The car sauna piece had me wetting myself...... ;D only those three could carry that off ;D Ken Block was fab and agree I wished it was far longer, I saw something like this when I was in the US last, by far much better live, but well done filming crew As for Mr McIntyre......I did think he was rather funny, though he does remind me of a friend, looks the lot, so I guess that would've appealed to me ;D

I did enjoy seeing Jeremy's wet shirt too when he poured the bucket over his head. James had a great smile the whole time he was in the "sauna". I think that's one of the reasons I like Michael too. He reminds me of an old friend my husband and I had in common, plus he does make both of us laugh. I saw him on Mock the Week last night. He had some pretty funny bits in it, but Frankie and Hugh take the cake in that show.

I see this episode has got mixed reviews, having been on holiday for 2 weeks I have 3 TG episodes plus all the JM moon programmes to watch. Now by my reckoning that 4.5 hrs worth of educational viewing (aka drooling). God, I shall OD on James .............! HEAVEN.

I watched bits of it last night and it improves with rewatching. The car sauna bit was daft in a TG way and the small car thing was good. Myvi is an ice cream/lolly not a car
