That's strange about the called ID, Adco! I don't know where you're from, but in my neck of the woods, the only called ID I know of is when the phone number comes up, not the persons name. Ah, the wonders of the modern world!

Tell ya what adco, that's really spooky!! I'm still reading on, still staying up too late... out tonight, and I'm going to be knackered!! The bit I liked last night, was Mindy's comment to Richard when he was upset about the problems caused to the hospital by the press outside, and she said they just wanted to know how he was because 'the last time they'd seen him, he was upside down'! Bless!!

Im in the sorta'south eastern part of the US Aaurora. Our caller ID features name and number. I shouldn't have been too surprised, Hammond is a common name here. Actuallly all 3 presenters names are common here. I finished up last night Liz. I liked the part where Richard thought his wife was French and Mindy momentarily thought he was having an affair. I would highly recommend it to anyone. Great read!

Crikey adco, you've beaten me!!... mind you, I went out last night, so any attempt to read would have been pointless... I'm just up to the part where Richard takes up the story again... trouble is, I don't want to finish it, because it's the last of my TG books!!

I've ordered 2 of James' books and according to the post tracker thing, one should be in my mailbox now. Trouble is my box is at the end of my driveway which is at the end of a long and steep hill. Usually my son gets the mail when he goes in or out, but he just left for a friends house and won't be back until tomorrow so I guess I'm going to have to waste precious fuel and drive down there or risk heart attack and walk it!

As I explained when I joined here, despite ten series (as it was at the time), I'm a comparative newbie to TG, but once I was hooked, I went out and bought everything I could find... just running out now!! lol

It's the same situation with me. I'm not sure when BBCA started carrying TG, but my husband watched it for while before I did. The first episode I saw was with Ewan McGregor because I've always liked him and I was hooked. On TG, not Ewan McGregor, that's more of an "admiration" thing.

I'd always liked JC, but never actively sought out anything he did, just enjoyed what I came across... I remember Richard's accident, but didn't think any more than 'poor guy', until he'd recovered, and was on all the UK chat shows... I saw him, and thought he was lovely, but still didn't watch TG. Then earlier this year I was off work sick for a week, was flicking through channels... came across TG and decided to watch... loved it, but at that point it was still JC, RH, and 'the other bloke'... however, after a couple of episodes 'that bloke' became my fave!! ;D

James had been my son's favorite since day one. Though not the same way he is mine, lol. My son is rather "nerdy" and likes cars, planes, war hisory and science so i'm sure he sees a bit of himself there. I have always liked smart men with good senses of humor. Being gorgeous is a bonus though!

I know what you mean... of the three, I would love to go for a pint with Jeremy, hug Richard (he IS cute), but James??!! He definitely ticks all the boxes!!

Loved the audio version, it was very touching and you felt involved in something very very personal as if you were allowed to join them for the story.

I strongly believe that the audio version would make me cry!

Trust me it will. It's very intensive and when you hear Mindy talk it's just right there, she's not reading it of a page, she's reliving it as she speaks and is nearly in tears herself...

That's how I thought it would be. More reliving than reading. It's excellent stuff though!

Not so much on Richard's side but it is so on Mindy's side. Fabulous all the same!!

Just found this webpage, via Facebook, to get this book and Jeremy's "Don't Stop Me Now" for free: www.go.booksdirect.co.uk/tioli11/index_twp.aspSmall print - yes it's a book club, yes you have to pay postage, yes there's probably other small print I haven't read which is very important, but I haven't got time. But, if you haven't got these books it might be worth investigating.

I have just seen on the Dutch TG site that you can now also get the book in Dutch. Most of the times a book translated into Dutch sucks. I have the English one and I love it.

I was in town this morning, so I popped into Boarders to look for a book for my niece for Christmas. I spotted a whole stack of 'On The Edge' in the Children's > Reference > Biography section . Still haven't bought the other one yet.

I finished listening to the Audiobook last night. I wanted to cry, but I couldn't! So heartwrenching when you heard Mindy speak of her events. The audio has all the important bits on it, which is good. That reminds me, I should make a review of this one.

I'm thinking about buying the Dutch version and bringing that with me also to the book signing. I know I have posted that the Dutch version would suck but I think it would be a nice idea to bring it with me to the signing.

I've put the audiobook on my ipod. Mindy's parts are so heartbreaking.

Well I love reading the boook when I was in the train to London but I also love to listen to Richard and Mindy when I walk, so I love both versions.

Yeah, that is true but abridged can also mean that there are bits 'cut out' of the story, just to make it a bit shortr. I e-mailed Amazon to ask about abridged once and that was what they said to me in their reply.
