Just listened to the audio version, Mindy reads her bits and it's so touching when she talks about the accident, you can hear in her voice that she's trying not to cry. I was in floods of tears Great book tho' ;D

I might get the audio version. I was thinking of reading it again. It is a brilliant book and apparently at No. 1 this week.

I have to agree, it's a great book. I'd quite like to get the audio version.

I just got the audio. Know what I'll be listening to on the commute for the next few days now.

They're doing Christmas Book write ups in the Standard today. On the Edge is reviewed and I quote.... ""Men will buy this because they like fast cars. Women will read it because they like fast cars and they like Hammond (it's a Dudley Moore thing)...." Er Dudley was 5 ft 2 - I don't think it's Hammond's stature that women like nor is he particularly short.

Ok I'm probably being dim here.... Richard's book is out now in paperback, but does anyone know why he's also releasing an 'abridged version' in August with sixty-odd less pages??

It's an easier read with some of the more emotional/graphic stuff taken out (I'd imagine) for younger readers.
I really don't know it's a guess.

A sort of 'daytime edit/pre-watershed' edition?... would make sense!

i hadnt got the hardback book because i couldnt really afford it but i bought the paperback this morning and i went out with the purpose of getting it. i read the first 3 chapters on the bus on the way home - ive spent all day with the book pretty much glued to my hands - and i just finished it - its the only book that has ever made me cry and the only book i have read in a day!

I read it in much the same way; single sitting with a box of tissues at my side!

Finally got round to reading this (long story, I bought most of their books in a buying frenzy and have been working my way through 'em).... what a 'page-turner'?!... I don't want this to sound wrong, but Richard's antics in hospital were so funny... bless!... the man's amazing!

I got my copy in the mail today! This was my third attempt at ordering, the first time i received an e-mail saying that the quantity I requested (which was 1) was too large, then I was told that they were sorry that I had returned the book which was news to me because I hadn't gotten it! Of course I would get it the one week that I have to work everyday! Maybe I can sneak it in my purse. Can't wait to get started!

It is fabulous adco... only problem is, I tend to read more at bedtime than any other, and I can't put it down!!

I'm afraid that will be my problem. We are going out for a while and when we get back it will be late and i should go to bed and this book is just lying here willing me to read it which will probably result in a late night read-a-thon!

I'm not sure which I prefer when it comes down to bedtime reading, if the chapters are too long, I speed-read to the end of a chapter because I need to go to sleep, and end up not taking anything in, but if the chapters are too short, I'll keep reading 'just one more'... I can't win!

I have the same problem, I either read so quickly that I miss half of the story or just keep cramming more in. I haven't been reading much in the past couple of weeks due to my work and my son's summer activities. I have a widget on my myspace that tells what book I'm currently reading and one of my friends asked me what was wrong as I hadn't been reading! I'm guessing that I will resume reading in a few short hours!

Liz was right. I stayed up until about 2:00 and had to get up at 6:00 and still didn't read the whole book. Only a little bit left though. I have really enjoyed it, after going to bed I still couldn't sleep for thinking about parts of it, one of my signs that a book is good. Oddly enough at work this morning, the phone rang and the caller ID read "Hammond, Amanda". I know I let it ring too long because I was staring at it in disbelief An odd coincidence you think? Even odder, the person that I spoke to wasn't named Amanda or Hammond.
