The special this year will be Bolivia! Jezza already mentioned his journey there in his column this week and it turns out it was for Top Gear after all. Only very little info so far. They have worked together with a company called Metal Tech. People from that company have posted in this forum. Let's keep an eye on the one in case pics show up. They were filming on the Road of Death. (I can just imagine them spotting that name on some map and then obviously they all want to go there straight away. ) Someone from Australia met them while he/she was there as well: I met the guys from Top Gear a week or so ago. They were filming on the 'death road' in Bolivia while I was riding down it on a Mountain Bike. Keep an eye out for it! Looked like they were having an epic time.I hope James managed to control his vertigo...

I think it's more to do with the scheduling Snooker may be on or something. They was to keep the 1950s appeal to it.

"Acrophobia is an extreme or irrational fear of heights. It belongs to a category of specific phobias, called space and motion discomfort. Acrophobia can be dangerous, as sufferers can experience a panic attack in a high place and become too agitated to get themselves down safely.
"Vertigo" is often used, incorrectly, to describe a fear of heights, but it is more accurately a spinning sensation that occurs when one is not actually spinning. It can be triggered by looking down from a high place but, this alone, does not describe vertigo. True vertigo can be triggered by almost any type of movement or change in visual perspective . Vertigo is qualified as height vertigo when referring to dizziness triggered by heights". (Wikipedia).
Wonder which James has? A lot of people call it vertigo when it's actually acrophobia.
I have acrophobia, and it's not much fun. I have difficulty even standing on a chair and really high places are impossible. I spent 2 days as a car passenger in Crete and never saw a view, as my eyes were shut tight after the first 30 seconds. Part of the problem can include a temptation to throw yourself off the edge. To go on that "death road" in Bolivia I would have to be tranquilised, blindfolded and tied up, with a sack over my head!

*raises hand*
Fellow acrophobe here.
I used to work with a lady who had vertigo and it would come on almost without warning, with dizziness, vomiting and eventual keeling over. It made me very careful never to mix the two conditions up!
