well - when I saw the information about filming close to home, I thought it would be great to go and see it for myself.
Thats when the problem started. Ticket only, and sold out even before I knew about them being on sale! Sons friend happened to have 3 - but he had promised them to someone else. His tickets were for today - Sunday. Filming was Saturday. Exhibition took exactly 20 minutes to see.# It took them longer to drive through Maccy Ds at breakfast time than it did to see the whole lot. In a way I am pleased I didnt go!

Some more info on the Bolivia special from the BBC Press Office Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May are dropped deep into the Bolivian rain forest in the latest in a line of Top Gear specials.
Following on from their epic adventures across Botswana, Vietnam and the Arctic Circle, this time the trio are equipped with three shabby 4x4s bought from local small ads for a maximum of £3,500 apiece.
In what is set to be their most extraordinary journey to date, Jeremy, James and Richard attempt to drive from the heart of Bolivia's Amazon basin to the coast of Chile, encountering local drug lords, the debilitating effects of high altitude and the terrifying sheer drops of the infamous 40 mile mountain pass El Camino De La Muerte – "Death Road" – along the way.
Before all that, they must escape from the deep, dark centre of the rain forest in what is, without doubt, the toughest and most unmissable challenge Top Gear has ever faced.*sets recorder to very much record* It's going to be epic! Link

Reading this article on Bolivia makes you realise just how hard "our boys" work sometimes. Yeah I know their antics sound fun and most men would kill to have a job like them but Bolivia is kinda dangerous. No way was this one glamour and roses all the way. Bet it makes great viewing and from the comfort of my sofa I'm sure I'll enjoy it.

but Bolivia is kinda dangerous. Bolivia definitely isn't like Western Europe, the USA or Australia. But as someone who has been privileged to travel a lot and having seen an awful lot of this planet... can I just add that Bolivia is astonishingly beautiful and with the kindest and most generous people you can possible imagine. It felt like a privilege to travel there. I hope some of this will be reflected in the episode.

They seemed to like Romania quite a bit, references to gypsies notwithstanding.
"Did you shrink that man, gypsies?"

I've travelled to Bolivia too lindenchase and I agree it is a beautiful country, and on the whole the locals I encountered were friendly and hospitable even though they have very little themselves. I hope this comes across too. I'm looking forward to this episode loads!
