Top Gear team immortalised in Lego Clarkson, Hammond, May and the Stig feature in new motorsport-themed area at Legoland. By David Williams Published: 12:20PM BST 21 Aug 2009 A bit square... Clarkson, Hammond, May, Stig and Caterham R500 Photo: Ian Miles No, the picture above isn't slightly out of focus and yes, it is a Caterham Superlight R500. But it's made out of Lego. Legoland designers were so impressed when the car scooped BBC TV's Top Gear Car of the Year that they captured the moment in the famous plastic bricks. Taking their place in the 40-million-brick MINILAND attraction at Legoland near Windsor, the show's presenters Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May as well as the Stig can be seen huddled around the Superlight in a motorsport-themed arena. "The Caterham is such a timeless and iconic car that it was a no-brainer as our choice for the motorsport area," said Legoland's chief model maker, Guy Bagley. "My colleague remembered that the Stig had put the R500 through its paces and how incredible it was on the test track. "It's a design that lends itself particularly well to our bricks, too." As well as gaining the Top Gear award, the £38,000 Caterham proved its potential by outpacing supercars such as the £1 million Bugatti Veyron. www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/news/6066314/Top-Gear-team-immortalised-in-Lego.html

We'll be there next weekend, since that's where my son wants to celebrate his birthday, again. I'll have to remember the camera and post the pic I take of it here when I get back.

Now I need to go to both Legolands. TG3 in one and they made a Lego model of a building from my university at the one in California.
