Damn you Loose Women *shakes fist* if only they kept their mouth shut about getting people on board to vote, but as the title suggests, you can't.
Anyway, there's always the BAFTA to be won.

the good folks on Digital Spy summed up the award of best factual programme perfectly- Loose Women's a Factual Programme?
Menopausal slappers in action, all it needs is an Attenborough voice-over. ;D ;D ;D Don't you just love DS ;D I really can't add more than that, oh I could, but not a good idea on here ;D and can I also add I missed this, erm but I can watch this later, at what point was this on, or rather the May bit ?, as I really don't fancy watching Ant and Dec and the rest of the boring crap ...I personally hope they win the BAFTA's.....I just want to know if this is based on the number of votes received, if so then it's fixed ;D I think it was about 9.15 ish so 105 mins in or there abouts suggest your turn off before the squealing loose women start ;D

How lovely did James look though? What a waste just keeping him in the audience

All I can say is, if Loose Women is the taste of today's viewing public, I'm pleased and proud that Top Gear didn't win!

I don't think we can really complain that the fans were rallied to vote for Loose Women. How many times have we (the TG fans) gone all out to rig votes for things? The NTAs arranged their website in a way that made that much harder to do. I'm also aware that the grumpy element of the TG audience were still having a hissy about series 14 and were discouraging the FG people from voting.
What this does show is that these public vote thingies are easily swayed.
Personally, I wish they'd stop giving everything to bloody Doctor Who. I'm actually a huge fan, but there are other shows and other actors just as good as David Tennant - though I'll be very disappointed if Matt Smith doesn't get it next year, even if he's rubbish, because it'll show DT was being voted for on the ground of personality/fangirling and not actual content (though perhaps that's why TG did less well this year, because series 14 was pretty patchy and that will be the one that was in people's minds). For goodness sake, they didn't even do a full series this year.

Actually I'm still trying to work out why they call it the National Television Awards, when it's soaps, crap and soaps.. ;D now if you want to watch a soap that's crap but hilarious you should see some of the ones here..... they are all in Arabic so you have no idea what the hell is going on but the costumes are bizarre, the acting sooooo bad and the make up hilarious! Worth a tune in now and again just for the novetly factor of how bad they are

Ah, that's why TG lost out... it isn't crap and it's not a soap. There you go. I can only assume Stephen Fry was this year's exception to prove the rule!

I would like to bury all the loose woman, particularly the Nolan woman, they annoy me intensley, and I only watched about ten minutes of their programme and that was enough for a lifetime. I know Jeremy once questioned the validity of TG being a factual programme, but Loose Women doesn't get anywhere near the mark.

I always think that Jeremy is willing to try different kinds of food (especially in the Vietnam special,) so why shouldn't he try a spot of canibalism and dispose of the Loose Women. I am sure he likes a bit of breast, and they have plenty.

I'm glad they honored Stephen Fry. His views on religion are just completely wrong, and they drive me crazy, but I can't hate the man himself. He's just too lovable.

Surely it's more a case of disagreeing with his views than them being wrong? It's a matter of belief and a matter of opinion, and I'd adore him even if he wandered around with a bible in his hand (which I suspect would be a similar leap for me). I have enormous respect for people who are prepared to be counted as not having a religious faith because for such a long time it was such a massive taboo to say you didn't believe. I don't have one myself, and I don't want or need one - but then again, I would never tell anyone not to believe something if they wanted to. In the 'free world', we have freedom of religious expression, and I'm very grateful that includes the right not to believe at all.

I totally agree with Wy... having been brought up as a 'good Catholic girl', I struggled with faith for some years, being told that God was 'all around', yet having to go to church on a Sunday to 'speak' to Him... these days, I'm far too sensible (stop sblack personing) to believe in a deity sitting on a cloud, judging me... as Wy says, faith is whatever you believe in, and gets you through your life... Edit: 'sblack personing'?!... I'm sure you realise I was referring to 'sporfling'

Back 'on topic'... out of pure curiosity, I've just had a peek at today's Loose Women... Carol McGiffin has just remarked that Top Gear would have stood a better chance in the NTA if the presenting team had been 'less male dominated'!
