Was a great wee top gear day on dave (then again when isnt a top gear day on Dave) But as we are with Dave heads up for: Toy Stories (Airfix) on Friday 2nd Sept at 6pm and Sat 3rd at 2pm Big Ideas (come fly with me) on Sat 3rd Sept at 6pm Watched the Airfix show for the first time (somehow it was always the one i missed) and can i just say.....how lovely is James' dad? Forget James being someone we want to take home to our parents, i say i want to meet his parents. Both seem so lovely

I agree with you on that, Suz! I had those thoughts as well after watching Airfix.

Can't for the life of me remember which thread this was mentioned in before, but I'll stick it here anyway. For UK members, the show about the High Voltage festival is being repeated on Sky Arts 1 tomorrow, Sunday, at 10 pm.
It was rumoured to include an interview with James.

Drat! Another page that won't let me see the videos because I'm not in the UK. This happens to me all the time when I go on the BBC's 'Top Gear' and 'Doctor Who' sites...Some I can watch and some I can't.

I love that he was an authority on Zhu Zhu Pets/Go Go Hamsters and he doesn't have children.

I've missed it again!!! Was it any good? I didn't have the strength for an hour and a half of Slash, Thin Lizzy and Judas Priest, so I recorded it and - no! James's bit was about 30 seconds long and just a bit of waffle about the festival. He was captioned as "Top Gear Legend", which was rather sweet.

At the last minute, as usual!
"Things You Need To Know" part 1 is on BBC2 at 5.30pm today (UK), which is more or less where quite a lot of us thought it should have been in the first place, I seem to recall!

I knew he'd crop up on there at some point, he usually does when he's got something to promote. I suppose this means we need to keep an eye on BBC Breakfast and ITV's This Morning as well!

I've just checked and yes, The One Show comes up on the iPlayer.
The bad news is that I've also checked This Morning for the next week and there's no mention of James, though he could be added later, I suppose. BBC Breakfast never lists who's on, so that will be luck if he turns up.
Can anyone think of any other programmes, especially TV rather than radio, that he might turn up on?
(Grr, annoyed with myself now - I was always taught 'do not end a sentence with a preposition'. I now believe that to be a myth, but my final sentence still feels wrong, though I don't want to put, "Can anyone think of any other programmes, especially TV rather than radio, on which he might turn up?" as it sounds ponderous!)

Dit, I guess he could turn up on The Wright Stuff, Alan Titchmarsh Show, Graham Norton or Jonathan Ross? Most likely he'll be on none of the above mentioned ;D

I think ending sentences with a preposition is a common midwestern USA speech pattern. So you'd fit right in here. Oh sorry-I can't think of any other programs James might turn up on.

Unfortunately ending a sentence with a preposition is considered acceptable even at the college level. I was always taught not to do so but our way of speaking and expressing ourselves constantly goes through changes. I was told by my parents to never say anyways because it is not a word. They've been gone for years but I still remember looking it up in the dictionary and it not being listed. It is too bad that more parents don't correct the grammar of their children. My son gets a little annoyed at me because I still correct him at 27.

It's that or doing some more cleaning and frankly, the weather here is kind of terrifying and I'd like to not have to venture outside.

Aww its lovely to see James back on the telly, gives me a nice warm feeling on a chilly evening ;D Then to have him sing at the end... perfect! Shame the One Show didn't do a bit more homework on some of James' projects - how can they not know it was his Meccano bridge Roll on next tuesday...looking forward to the new series ;D

He looked lovely, as ever. I think some make-up girl tied him to a chair ( ) and forced him to accept hair spray, though. Those waves stayed in place amazingly well. I hope he does a bit more singing on Man Lab...
