Cars! Lots of cars!
I know I was a bit rude about Overfinch in last month's TG magazine, but I do actually want a Holland & Holland one very much indeed because my family lives in Devon and we shoot. But otherwise, that was an extremely well balanced episode, lacking in the overdone silliness that has been a bit prevalent lately. And I thought the airport vehicle racing worked well, despite my previous doubts about it when it was discussed in the summer. Best thing? This episode didn't have the editing issues that have been a bit of a concern recently. The pace was excellent, the content was excellent, the only reason it drops a mark was that there wasn't enough James. But other than that, hurrah!

Another strong episode. Poor little car at the end though - it didn't deserve to die. Guy Ritchie was confusing. Part of me thought he was a bit of a girl.

not bad - but I didnt thing the various crashing of the Twingo was needed (the rest of that feature was fine by me though - cracking little car)

Crashing the Twingo was a bit unnecessarily, but it was scragged so it's not the end of the world.

At some point in the future I will say something intelligent about tonight's episode. But at the moment the only thing I can say is marmalade *sigh*

Good solid episode. Ah yes 'marmalade' .............. at that point my mind wandered to other food stuffs and then it went into overdrive so I'm off to the Naughty Corner for what could be a long time!!

I had a Twingo 1.2 GT on hire last year and, even though I'm not a lover of small cars, I would have one as a runabout tomorrow. It was fab! Nippy, economical and I could even get a large doggy in the back (with Ross Kemp) with the seats down. Excellent episode for me despite one or two of the 'accidents' in the airport vehicles race looking a bit too planned. Guy Ritchie was.....not what I expected but, there again, I don't know what I expected Jezzers bit with the 4WDs was good too

I don't think I've ever read such negative comments about TG before on their blog!! Has TG finally jumped the shark?

No. When Top Gear jumps the shark, they will actually jump over a shark. Which will be on fire. And they'll do it backwards in a Morris Marina. And then, to everyone's surprise, a piano will not fall on it...

I thought this was a reasonably decent episode -- not great but not bad either. Unlike Wyvern, I didn't care much for the airport vehicle race as it was just a re-hash of the bus race from season 12 (I believe). Another minor annoyance was that the news seemed shorter than usual. I don't know if that was actually the case but it certainly seemed that way to me. LOVED the Range Rover segment. LOVED! LOVED! LOVED! Honestly, if I had the coin I'd buy one in a flash. SIARPC was okay and I didn't mind Ritchie plugging the new Sherlock Holmes as it seemed reasonably interesting. (Time will tell, of course.) Twingo thing was a bit bonkers but bonkers in a good way. Seems to me James' was also sporting his new "continuity haircut" this episode. Not massively different in any sense but I liked there was a bit more layering around his face. (Which is a good look for him - reminded me of the Africa special and first wine adventure.) Now if only he'd turn up in the occasional dark, solid coloured shirt.

I thought tonight's ep was very solid! Not OMG AMAZING, but not awful, either. I liked the Range Rover bit! The airport vehicle segment was fun - they seem to put that sort of thing at the very beginning for the kids. ;D I wasn't crazy about Guy Ritchie - but then, I never really knew or cared much about his work before, anyway. The Twingo was great, and was sad it had to drown. I was really interested in the Abarth, though. I can't remember if they've tested that one before - quite possibly, since I still have large gaps in my viewing that I'm filling in. I nearly died at the Village People gag! My main complaint: not enough James! And he looked lovely. Seems to me James' was also sporting his new "continuity haircut" this episode. Not massively different in any sense but I liked there was a bit more layering around his face. (Which is a good look for him - reminded me of the Africa special and first wine adventure.) I concur! I love it when his hair is layered. Gives him an even more boyish appearance and frames his face nicely, imho.

I don't think I've ever read such negative comments about TG before on their blog!! Has TG finally jumped the shark? I am rather surprised that it's been given so many negative quotes, OK is wasn't the most spectacular episode but it wasn't rubbish either. OK, some bits were staged but with a programme like TG you'd expect that to a certain extent. I did read one comment where they said Jeremy's illness was staged too, I thought that as well but it didn't stop me from wanting to go give him a big hug.

Jezza does seem to get quite a lot of colds/coughs. Remember when he had 'bird flu'? I know it sounds cruel, but it still makes me laugh whenever I see that episode, with him hunched up in his chair clutching his cup of Lemsip. And Richard saying that if Jezza has really got bird flu, that means it's only one species away from infecting humans ;D

Jezza does seem to get quite a lot of colds/coughs. Remember when he had 'bird flu'? Yes and remember when he lost his voice last year, cruel again I know but it was so funny to see him struggling to talk (& quite sexy ;D). I recall at one point he gave up an let James talk over.

Still not the best, but I rather liked it this week, Guy Richie (not my cup of tea) though I rather fancy watching that film of his, so thanks for the review ;D....and I must say more could've been done with the sewers, rather than Jeremy being on his own....and well some interesting comments on the TG Blog

Only really liked the Twingo section. Guy Ritchie is boring but his films are great. The Airport racing just did nothing for me, to be honest. The news made me chuckle though. Should have been more James in it, but we all know how busy they are at the moment with the TGLive shows etc, so I'm not that annoyed.
To be honest, probably my least liked episode this season so far. :-\

I'm getting the sense (and maybe it's just that I know more about what goes on in the background than I used to) that they're having to cut things down more than they want to to make it all fit. I wish they could leave the films a bit longer or just deliberately do a short subject. It feels like they're leaving a bunch of stuff out.
