Rather remiss of us not to have a thread for this.

I think the Lego programme may have distracted us a little

I missed it. Fell asleep during the last 10 minutes of James and his Lego house Good job I was recording it. Hugh Dennis seems to be providing an able stand in for James with Oz

Overall very good... may need to watch again, owing to writing Xmas cards at the same time The challenge was funny, if predictable again, and the Xmas news was good again...

Very entertaining. Jenson was a good guest, liked the news, and the challenge, although as you say, predictable at times. I could see the art car was going to end up destroyed or damaged, and Hammond pushing over James's art work was inevitable. Looking forward to the special next weekend though.

I gave it an 8. I really liked the car testing, the news was very funny and the SIARPC interesting. But the modern art gallery film didn't really do it for me. But I was distracted as well, might have to watch it again.

Very good blog by Andy. I'm glad they've recognised that the cartoon characters they've become has got a bit tired now. Will be good to see that changed. I will say with this episode that the art show was actually interesting as an art show. The Tate Modern is in need of an update too. Maybe the two of them could work something out. I've no idea who The Monk is but from the comments on the blog he's someone who likes the sound of his own keyboard.

Great blog so many truths, nice to know they miss the old days too! I agree the botswana, Bonneville & old porsche films were amongst the best the natural less scripted interaction between the guys. But.... we love 'em what ever they do .... and Andy

You have been reading my thoughts again lymaze. I've read many (and there are many ) of Mr Monks posts and I have to agree......he should get out more Some of his observations are spot on but he seems to think (and sadly, Wilman has done nothing to put him off) that his opinion on TG is the one and only defining one. I bet he 'entertains himself' regularly

The Monk does go on and on and on but occasionally has a point but he who shouts loudest gets heard Bloody typical. It's the proper viewers who don't get listened too. At least Andy is objective about TG and can see it from outside of the box.

I miss more of them just hanging out, getting along, and looking like they enjoy each other's company. I'm getting tired of Hammond waiting to backstab one of the others, Jeremy insulting everyone in sight, and James going on about things and not realizing that everyone is bored.
Also, it sounds like they're getting ready to end it. I think Season 15 or 16 will be the last one.

As for the end i always thought that would come when the contracts they signed last year come to a end.

I quite enjoyed it ;D but when I laughed it made my back hurt, which annoyed me Yes, it's getting a bit predictable - as soon as I saw Jezza driving the art car, I knew it would end up ruined in some way.....I think maybe they are playing it for laughs a bit too much these days, but if it makes us laugh, then it's all good. But I'd like to see a bit more of them just hanging out, as Chariset says. Hopefully there'll be some of that in the Bolivia special.

I'd like to see more challenges like the cheap cars one, when rubishness comes naturally

The only issue I have with the blog is that Andy responded to The Monk. It's only made the Monk more outspoken and imposing his thoughts on everyone. Maybe he should get out more instead of replying to every negative/positive comment.

Maybe he should get out more instead of replying to every negative/positive comment. That was my thought too mg. He (Monk) seems to love the sound of his own voice and replying just encourages him (Wilman, don't buy into his little game ) Monk seems to be one of those intellectually superior folk who knows what is 'best' for the rest of us plebs to watch Well, I'm sorry to disappoint them but I can make my own mind up.

I thought this episode was about average for this series but the Christmas present news was quite amusing and brought out the natural chemistry between them. I agree with many of the TG posts in that if they play up less to their cartoon characters then it would be more like the old TG. I am getting a bit tired of the slapstick nature of the programme of late. Why did they have to destroy their attempts at art, for me it was going well until they did that. Still a jolly good programme though.

I did like this ep very much. Not perfect so gave it a nine. I am a bit of an "arty deshevilled bird" as JM would put it, so it really interested me.
Loved the programme before it as well! ;-)

Why did they have to destroy their attempts at art, for me it was going well until they did that. I agree Brycegold, it was a bit too predicatable that Clarkson knocked over James's sculpture (which I thought was actually quite good) and the stern p*ssed off look on James's face seemed a bit too scripted... but never the less I thought this weeks programmes was better than last weeks.
