That was definitely the best episode of the series (not including Bolivia). Perhaps this is the way forward for the series. Much more relaxed, less pretentious, more about the cars but that general fun, boys togetherness that seemed lacking sometimes. Loved it.

Great to see how they must have planned Jezza's review for the entire year, filming all the the short clips in all the places he visited last year. Wonder who did the Bermuda filming? Maybe Francie? And I love James golden award jacket. ;D Maybe he should do a programme away from Top Gear about road signs. I like the way he interacts with disheveled arty birds of any age.

I really, really enjoyed tonight's programme, apart from the distraction in the dining room - but it will be repeated and I have recorded it.

Great to see how they must have planned Jezza's review for the entire year, filming all the the short clips in all the places he visited last year. I was wondering about that too. But was that car available this time last year when he was down here? I'm not 100% sure. That aside, loved the laidback feel of this show, Seasick Steve (woo!) and Richard's crash into the xmas tree. And Jeremy's faceplant into the Wall. Very relaxed. The films were a bit hit & miss but the running gag of the low budget was pretty amusing. Fighty!Stig! ;D And James should wear that jacket again. Anyone else reckon that was a bit of bet to wear it?

I think that this was a perfect way to round off the series. Really relaxed, nice balance between cars and general mucking around. Loving the gold jacket and Richard's skateboard crash into the Christmas prezzies (something I have done in my youth!). Series for me has been hit and miss but the final two episodes have more than made up for it.
Looking forward to the summer now.
p.s. I want that Lexus!

Overall I really enjoyed it. Nice balance of articles and cocking about, good SIARPC, lots of thought gone into the films - and the time taken over them showed, though I got the impression that James's was perhaps more of an afterthought and it didn't quite gel for me. See, they can still do it! Obviously, the answer to all the complaints on various websites is to nick all their money! I just got the feeling they were enjoying it a lot more this time.
So on balance, how do I feel about series 14?
Well, it has been patchy, but I think the complaints have been excessive. There have been times when it has shown that they didn't have as much time as they wanted to work on the show, and that the guys were overstretched and knackered, but from seven episodes, there were four that I thought were very good - Episode 1 (Romania and the cardboard toilet), episode 3 (Lancia and the Balboni/airship film), Episode 6 (Bolivia) and episode 7 (Andy's 'sh*t show'). Of the rest, I think they all bear further watching, and I have to be honest, when I was bored the other day I stumbled upon episode 2 (Geoff) and there were moments when I laughed so hard it hurt. Episode 4 raised a lot of complaints and confused me completely because I thought it had plenty of solid car content and felt quite 'old school'. And episode 5 was only really let down for me by the art gallery film. So on reflection, I've got no idea what people have been whining about. No, it probably wasn't a classic series of Top Gear, but it was still solid entertainment and it had some moments of brilliance even given the issues Andy brought up in his blog.
Now, boys, go away and have a proper rest, and give yourselves enough time to do all you need to do in future!

I have only just got around to watching this episode (just don't ask!) and I thought it was excellent. I agree it was back to the old style of three boys having fun, making fun of each other in a relaxed and natural way. It wasn't forced or staged and it wasn't slapstick either. I'm not sure if the lady was impressed with James but she was a very lucky person. What would we all have given to have been in her shoes. I wonder if she knew just how large James's lady fan club is. Back to basics boys, it works well.

I liked the interview with road sign lady - he just has a chat really, rather than interview her: he knows how to put people at ease. And she was grand too - a sport I thought.
I enjoyed this one lots

Plus hearing the gasps of horror/laughter as Hammond crashed into a pile of presents was great too.
It had to have been scripted. The camera was too-coincidentally positioned to get James and Hammond, but it was so funny.
