OK, flatin5th, James may not be a muscleman, but that's the way some women like it. Sure you're not just a tiny bit jealous?

I reckon James must have some strength in his arms, as a pianist he has to practise many scales, and as he seems to like playing Beethoven that requires stamina and strength. I like him just the way he is. Muscels, especially over developed ones, to me, are a big turn off

Sure you're not just a tiny bit jealous? Maybe just a bit But playing a piano though? How hard can it be? Cocking about with two of your mates for a living has to be one of the best jobs in the world! OK - I will put myself in th Sin Bin

Arm strength for piano-playing - depends what sort of playing it is. If you're just tootling about, no, you don't need muscle strength. If you're practsing a lot and playing thundering great chunks of Beethoven or Rachmaninoff yes, you will need to have strong arms (though not in the muscely sense). Anyway, you only have to think about some of the things James has had to do in TG to realise that he must be pretty fit for a guy in his late 40s. One example is all the ice digging etc in the Polar Special. So I think he clearly must be strong, whether some people think he looks it or not

Agree with you Dit proper piano playing needs good muscle tone and strength. Its certainly fitter than I am, I couldn't dig myself out of the snow, cycle ten miles along an old railway, hack my way through the amazon jungle. I wouls need someone to do all that for me ;D James are you free?! ;D

Someone on Twitter mentioned meeting James today on the Isle of Man. James wouldn't say why he was there, but as they are still filming for the current series, it could very well be for TopGear. Great, I loved the stuff they did out there.

I noticed this blurp on the 5th episode over on Final Gear: Top Gear Sunday July 25th, 2010 Richard takes a look at the Volkswagen to see if it has improved its second generation Touareg 4x4. He takes it to Sweden for a race against some snowmobilers. James travels to Germany where he attempts to break his personal speed record in a brand-new version of the Bugatti Veyron. Jeremy Clarkson looks at the reasons why Ayton Sena is considered the best driver of his generation in the year he would of turned 50 if he was still alive today.

Quite a big scoop: Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz are to appear in Sunday's show. I'm afraid I'm not too excited about that. Two A-list movie stars means even less time for the other segments. SIARPC should be a segment about a celebrity talking about his/her car history and enjoying having a go at the track, not about plugging upcoming movies. I'm pretty sure neither Tom Cruise nor Cameron Diaz had ever heard of TopGear before they were taken over to Dunsfold by their publicity agents. www.digitalspy.com/tv/news/a248316/cruise-diaz-to-appear-on-top-gear.html

That's a tad unfair, lindenchase. I mean, fine. Hate the guy... I think he's a bit loopy in the head, and not in a good way. And I last got enthused about a Tom Cruise movie when I was in high school ("Top Gun", it was...) but the guy's a total petrolhead, by all accounts, and I find it difficult to believe he'd never heard of the show - especially if you read the article you linked to! (And I suppose yes, it's possible to be cynical, but, well, why? I mean, why would they say it was his idea if it wasn't - I can't see Jeremy Clarkson going all fangirl and saying "OOOOOH I have to interview Tom Cruuuuuise!" ) And as for Tom Cruise in a Kia... well, I'd pay to see that. I mean seriously... ( anyone up for sending me a DVD of this show? And any of the others in the season so far that would fit? Reimbursage for postage and a packet of Tim-Tams for the first person to say yes! yeah I know, redacted. Uncool.) But I'm going to have to find a way to see this episode before Channel 9 Australia see their slow and tedious way to playing this episode, probably this time next year. Just saying.

The Knight and Day actors will be competing in the motoring show's 'star in a reasonably priced car' segment, according to The Sun.Is this for real it was in The Sun afer all If it is true will be interesting to see how Jezza reacts to two "huge" Hollywood stars.... amuzing episode to come then I guess?!

After a bit of Googling I concede and admit Tom Cruise is a petrolhead and has probably heard of Top Gear. He'll probably end way up on the board. But my point is that they are on Top Gear mainly because Jonathan Ross' show has now ended and they need somewhere big to plug their movies. Remember the time JR was banned? All of a sudden those movies stars started appearing in SIARPC.
