PM has invented a list of the 100 most important UK celebrities. Jeremy comes 14th.
PM has some odd ideas - lots of people seem to go off him, according to the few descriptions I read. I wonder why?
I know this comes from the Daily Mail website, but it's only a small sin to look at it.

Well at least Jezza got a mention, I guess James wasn't on the list at all.

I think a lot of it is to do with media business clout, especially at the top end of the scale. James hasn't developed that yet, although he's branching out into controlling his own projects now and I think that may make a difference in future.
I get the feeling that despite their differences, Mr Morgan does have a grudging respect for Jeremy on a professional level. As he says, they're probably too similar in a lot of ways and I can see what he's getting at. I'm just glad they've called a truce before one of them got put away. OK, I wouldn't have minded if it was PM, but I'd have been very miffed if it hadn't been!

This is what Piers writes about Jeremy. You have to hand it to him, despite not liking Jezza, he still put him on his list.
"14 JEREMY CLARKSON
It's not easy even mentioning this gentleman's name, let alone giving him the honour of being in my top 20. He does, after all, have a worrying tendency to whack me round the head whenever we meet at parties (so much so that when we last encountered each other, at a wedding, boxing promoter Frank Warren made us a genuine offer of £1 million each if we'd fight each other in the ring at Wembley Stadium).
I think the main reason we don't get on is that we're too similar - two lumbering old hacks with TV careers as over-opinionated, smug, arrogant presenters.
But no one can dispute his sheer commercial clout. Top Gear is one of the BBC's most lucrative cash cows, and his newspaper columns are equally popular. Love him or hate him, and I suspect I'm not the only one in the latter category, he has a voice that resonates with Middle England at a volume few can match.
Age 49 Born Doncaster
Education Hill House School (private); Repton School (private) Homes Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire; Isle Of Man"

It's not affectionate, but it's even-handed and even shows a little respect. I think it's fair.

After reading that, PM has gone up in my estimation. I'd love to see PM as the "star in a reasonably priced car".

It was a nicer piece than Jeremy would have written for him, that's for sure.

I'd love to see PM as the "star in a reasonably priced car". Bahahaaaaa! I doubt that'll ever happen. But would make most excellent TV if it ever did.
