I've been once, and I understand that it varies. Richard mingles a bit sometimes but Jeremy tends to keep back during the break (when I was there, Stephen Fry was the SIARPC, and he and Jeremy were wandering around deep in conversation behind the portakabin). James, on the other hand, often serves the half time tea! Between links, the presenters are tucked away backstage, but there's no heavy security issue. Andy wanders around, as does Richard Porter, and you never know who you might run into in the audience. It's fantastic to see the guys work though, and they're such professionals. It's a lot of standing around and trying not to faint (in summer... apparently in winter you have to try not to freeze to death), and I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity Rather than try to remember all the details, here's my thread about the filming that I started at the time... jamesmayboard.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=tglive&action=display&thread=2393

Lindenchase, please bear in mind that this is not a spoiler thread and although the result of the economy run was briefly mentioned on the show, not everyone watches that closely. Try to leave some surprises.

We've only just watched this episode, yes, yes, yes where have I been for the last few weeks! I made sure I didn't read this thread until I'd watched the show and I am so glad. For me it was brilliant, the old magic seems to have returned. Whilst it is was on I thought here we go again James comes last and Jezza will win but oh delightfully wrong I was. The tables were totally turned at the end, what a wonderful surprise (and not just because James won - well OK, sort of) but because it wasn't predictable. Well done to the all at TG. Guess some credit needs to go to Jeremy for 'allowing' others to take the glory of a win. James looked so cold during parts of this - poor love - just wanted to run over and give him a big warm hug.

I couldn't find this clip anywhere on the JMB, so I thought I'd post it here, in case anyone has yet to see it. It's James's lap of the Lausitzring in the Mercedes 190 during the track day challenge in Germany, complete with spoof commentary. Bloody funny! ;D www.youtube.com/watch?v=YbUgAI-VTZw
