Holy moly, how good was THAT?! What a fabulous, fabulous episode. I have to admit, I was a bit unsure about the second part of the two part film, but when they brought out the couple, and ended with a perhaps unexpected but entirely fair conclusion, it just felt right. All the boys got a good share of screen time, there was plenty of properly good car content, I laughed my socks off and it made me want that Maserati. Or the Camaro. Or the Aston. Good guests, especially Rubens, and it built brilliantly on last week.
Oh, and they didn't ruin Hammond's hair, which is always a bonus.
I know it was a good one, because I'm still smiling.

A good episode, but I wonder how many people will complain about racing around those office blocks!
Ginger Rupert did well, and there is a load of time still to come if the understeer can be killed in that Kia!

Loved it! Wy's summed up the same points I felt. I thought the chauffering might go OTT; it did a bit, but was so funny it didn't matter
In addition, "James May can drive somebody to the edge of reason in three minutes".
I'll take the risk!

Well I enjoyed 55 minutes of it. It was all very good, Rubens was fantastic, Rupert Grint - a future Top Gear presenter in the making, good first part of the film, funny news. But for me, the last 5 minutes was just too predictable again. James was obviously going to be incredibly late and it was all going to be very tense and silly and I turned off in the end. I know. This is what they do. But isn't it possible just not to always do it? Sorry - but apart from that the best episode so far.

Finally got round to watching it as I was obviously watching the football yesterday. Anyhoo. Solid episode. Yes, James getting lost was very predictable, but it was still good to watch. Impressed he knew the hymn. Small bet: one of the gutter rags will spin Richard's moaning about married life into a story about his marriage being in jeopardy.

I think it's worth a 9 I didn't like the wedding thing because it was all too obvious but the rest was great!

I liked the wedding. Jeremy with his "taped up" jeans and fast driving seemed to amuse the mother-of-the-bride and bridesmaid very much. James was adorable in his uniform trying to do everything properly. He even had the gloves. I don't mind the "James getting lost" thing because I personally wouldn't mind getting lost with James. I liked the way they took turns with the cars, too. The wedding present was the tackiest piece of kitsch. So funny. Did anyone think that the bride looked even more beautiful on the set than her wedding day?

I loved the whole programme, but particularly the chauffeur section. It didn't worry me that James got lost or was late. What I found particularly endearing was James asking which hymns the couple had chosen, and humming part of 'the king of Love my shepherd is,' and a little later wondering if the annunciation had been done. It showed up his chior boy past, and, if he is anything like me, can remember most of the words from 'Hymns Ancient and Modern.'

With you on that one eshalda, I've still got my copy of Hymns Ancient and Modern in the piano stool upstairs. It was one thing that I could sightread without difficulty (yes, even 'Jerusalem' - had to play it regularly for assembly when I was at school).
I fell out with the Church of England many years ago, not without reason, but the ceremony of it still gives me pleasure. I'm not the slightest bit surprised that James hummed the tune; as an ex-choirboy he can probably remember the words to all the verses as well. In fact, I was half expecting him to ask which tune they'd picked (hymn tunes often have their own names and often a hymn can have a choice of tunes).

I loved last nights episode, even the cheesey chauffeur part. Though I did get rather excited during the muscle car section for three main reasons..... The Camaro SS, Hammond and they used one of my favourite songs ever in the background (Boards of Canada - Dayvan Cowboy www.youtube.com/watch?v=_lEsLcGB7Vo in case anyone fancies a listen) Your link doesn't like me Liz

Oooh... It doesn't like me either now, it worked when I tried it before posting... It was a pic of Rubens being filmed, while sitting on a high stool on the track with 'doughnut' tyre tracks around him...

Watched this last night..... It's a 9 for me Yes I have to agree that James getting lost was predicatable but boy oh boy did he look[glow=red,2,300]CUTE[/glow]or what in that chauffer outfit *dribble dribble*In fact he looked very delicious through out the whole programme Anyway, other than a yummy James I thought the programme was quite well balanced, and definitely they are improving with each episode this series - in my opinion anyway. EDITED TO SAY: I actually thought the TG3 loo seat was hilarious.... do you think you can buy those?

*warning, topical-but-only-just rant ahead...* Ohhhh, this thread has me gutted. Damn my seriously limited internet (or rather, my control-freak, businessman dad who runs his office at home and simply won't let me download much more than a few pictures a month!) ... I'm itching to watch the new season, but I just can't justify the gigs... (so-called "umlimited" internet in this loser country is a laughable number of MGs, which I'd completely go over if I probably so much as downloaded the first three eps of the new season...) DAMN I miss America. I will hate my ex-husband forever for making me have to move back to the internet and cultural backwater known as Australia. : *end rant*

Loved this episode. Didn't even mind the wedding silliness too much although was definitely the weakest item. I think Jeremy is the best at pulling off (ooh er) that kid of daftness.
Did anyone else think the chaps in their ill-fitting chauffeur's uniforms looked like they should be in The Full Monty?
