It's hard to explain the term 'bogan' but in basic terms, lower-class. The differences between some Australian and British accents are high. Especially comparing Shane Jacobsen's accent (he is a typical down to earth Aussie bloke) to James' gorgeous accent.

One week away for me!!! Can't wait!! Looking forward to hearing all about the Brisbane shows. Not long till the boys will be in Melbourne. It's pretty chilly here at the moment so hopefully it will warm up a bit for the boys.

Hope that those of you who have gone to the show had an excellent time. (Pics people pics!) and that those of you who are going have an equally excellent time. Now allow me to throw a little temper tantrum as I live in the US and my chances of catching the guys in a TGlive show (or anywhere else for that matter) are 2 - slim and none. ***stamps feet, holds breath, pounds fists on desk, then just breaks down into a weepy mess*** OK - thanks girls. I feel much better now!

I was thinking about that, aeromanda. If the TG crew decided to do a Top Gear Live show in the US, the chances that it would be anywhere near to any one of us Stateside gals is unlikely. Like in Australia, the country is so big, they might as well still be in England for as close as we could hope to get! * stamps feet with aeromanda*

I mean, I do live fairly close to Chicago if they went there, but if it was LA or NYC, in those areas....nope, would not happen. *stamps feet with both of you*

They're holding a show in Oslo this month, about 470 kilometres from where I live.. It's far, but I HAVE to go there! Who knows when they're coming to Norway to have a show again?? And I'm sure it's worth the expenses ;D I'm really looking forward to it!!

Well they are a bargain at the moment - $129 for diamond seats in Brisbane! Well last night's show. Firstly I'll state I am still recovering from my op on Monday...still experiencing pain and not feeling the best at all...so maybe that is clouding my TG Live experience . And those going to Melbourne shows...well maybe stop reading now.... I felt the show was not a patch on previous year's shows...and I felt it was all a rehash of the previous content...and no new material. Same car football, cool wall and races in washing machines, girls in stilettos shooting flames of years before with lots of pyro. I actually was a bit bored and I actually yawned. Lots of fat jokes directed at Shane Jacobsen and jokes about beer, utes and wombats. I don't wish to be so negative and I don't wish to ruin the experience for JMB'ers who are seeing the shows for the first time...but...I was disappointed. Sorry. Hence I think the show needs rather a lot of tweaking. Maybe some more audience participation asides the cool wall as well.... On the positive side, it was lovely to see Aussie and Soraya again , and as it was the first show in Aus, they may tweak things quickly for the next show, they've done that before . *goes off into a corner*

Just got back from my FIRST TG LIVE! For everyone that hasn't followed the reasons why I wasn't able to go before - in 2009 I was 37 weeks pregnant. Desperately wanted to fly or even drive to Sydney but realised it was a bit stupid. In 2010, my little boy was not even one. I didn't feel right leaving him at home, or bringing him to Sydney. Third time lucky, as they say!
I had a brilliant time - my seats were superb. Front row - I *had* to have front row, didn't care about the cost and I'm so glad I had those seats. Perfect view of everything.
It was absolutely amazing seeing James and Jeremy for the first time. Admittedly, they did have a lot of cigarette and red bull breaks LOL but it's understandable. I had a fair idea of what to expect from seeing photographs and videos from previous shows, but nothing can compare to seeing it yourself.
Loved the car football, but I also remember seeing a hilarious video racing the Reliant Robin's and I was hoping for that, but they did use some in the car football. James was missing from the Cool Wall segment and I did wonder where he was... would have been good for him to be there.
I really, really enjoyed myself and over the moon with the whole thing - was incredible seeing them after all these years. THANK YOU to James, Jeremy, Andy & crew for making this possible!
managed to grab a few low-quality photos (including Hammond relaxing on the grass 'suntanning his teeth', and James getting involved in some 'backdoor action' according to Jeremy).

I am so glad and relieved you had such a great time. Front row is amazing, isn't it? ;D Can't wait to see your pictures. I'll eventually show mine once I finally get out of Ticketek world. Were they cracking down on camera's?

I've been to the show twice (or maybe three times now) in past years and I won't be going again. They do seem to churn out the same old same old. But, if it's a first time experience it's brilliant to see.

We went to tonight's show (8pm Saturday), our second and last show to see and I think they definitely made a few adjustments Firstly, I forgot to mention that the sound quality at Friday's show was terrible. HUGE improvement tonight, they obviously worked on that today. They added a few more jokes (cut a few fat jokes methinks), and it felt more relaxed (or did I consume more drugs pain medication than I did yesterday?) ....maybe the first show was the worst and a bit of a warm-up? Enjoyed it a lot more tonight and very pleased we went! ;D

What a difference a day makes!!!! Firstly to those who don't know I am reasonably new to the JMB and although have watched TG a couple of times never really knew much more about it apart from it being a show I really liked but never knew which channel it was on (only watched one channel with CSI, Simpsons reruns and other Cr$@) And then I met Eclair and have been ummm Educated so to speak and have watched and downloaded frantically for the last umm 16 months.... So after hearing sooooooo much about the TG live experience from Eclair (aka OH) I was sooo looking forward to seeing the show and experiencing it all myself. So we rock up on Friday night after work all excited with anticipation (and some of us with a sore howsyourfather). The show was in some ways disappointing. I didn't know what was worse, the show, the seats or the people in the stands watching. Suffice to say although the content was ok, I found it a little contrived. Hopefully you can understand what I mean... So we left last night with me wondering if it was actually worth going again?! (the main reason for this is Eclair was in quite a lot of pain). But as we do (because you have the tickets and hey they are like gold) we went tonight. As I said in the first sentence; what a difference a day makes!!!! What a difference!! Firstly I don't know if I would go to another show where you weren't sitting front on to the screen. Made soooo much of a difference. Then the sound was just soooo much better tonight. The jokes were just a little more ummmm Polished and everything was more smooth. Even the "what is in the New Stigs Garage" section was good and made a little more sense and really the music was very ummm pretty (without being girly). I suppose the highlight for the second night for me was the crowd. Friday night (the first) the only person you could hear in the stadium screaming was Eclair!! the second night however was a different story!! Although Eclair remained loud (and for those who know her it isn't a hard thing) she was actually drowned out by the rest of the crowd. I suppose as Eclair will attest to they have definitely "tweaked" the show between Friday and Saturday Nights. The paddock passes are great and would definitely go for them again and even the second night was different to the first. They started the cars and revved them which is something they didn't do for the first night which made it a little bit better and more interesting (especially if you are a petrol head and like the sound of a new Ferrari V8). So I suppose in conclusion... ROCK ON 365 days to go for TG to return back here!!!! ;D ;D ;D Don't know if I would go to a first nighter again.... but will be going again and that's a promise!!! To those in Melbourne... do not scrimp and save... be VERY particular with tickets. I personally think it will be well worth the money and the trouble. To others.... I hope I didn't rave on too much....

It's hard to explain the term 'bogan' but in basic terms, lower-class. The differences between some Australian and British accents are high. Especially comparing Shane Jacobsen's accent (he is a typical down to earth Aussie bloke) to James' gorgeous accent. Oh come on... it is easy to explain the term 'bogan'... it is in america 'trailer trash' in New Zealand they are called 'westies' and ummm I suppose in UK... well ok in an understatement they are called the UN refined ;D ;D ;D ;D

Oh Eclair and EclairsCream - I am SO glad you had a better experience the second time round! I absolutely loved it - I thought there was no problems with sound so they definitely tweaked things after that first show, I imagine. The crowd at the Saturday 2pm show were very good and enthusiastic (I was doing a little bit of screaming - I thought I behaved myself rather well, which was surprising considering the extreme level of excitement I was experiencing!) I'm keen to share some dodgy pics but worried about it 'being naughty' I hope the boys loved their stay at the Versace hotel (gorgeous, gorgeous!) and enjoy the rest of their days in Queensland before off to Melbourne! I am looking forward to seeing the Australia special - just hope it stays nice and sunny for the filming.

So glad to hear you guys enjoyed it. We are going to the first melbourne show on friday. I've never been to a tg live show so we ( the other half and my son) are super excited! My boy is only 5 but he is totally obsessed with top gear (almost as much as his mummy). I just hope he enjoys the show too!! My daughter wants to come but she's only 2. ( she seems to prefer hammond at the moment. She jumps up and down when she sees him on telly) I do sometimes wonder what I've created!! Hehe!!

Awww Jess, that is very cute I have a two year old as well and have taught him to say James May, Jeremy, Lamborghini and Stig. He tries to say Richard but it comes out sounding like Dickhead. Which I guess some might view as rather apt. You will have a fantastic time!

Just heard from my Cousin who knows a lot of people in hospitality and maybe (yet to be confirmed) someone who works at the Versace where the guys are staying. Sounds like they would have had an early night last night as Friday night/Saturday morning they were up til the early hours playing piano and drinking. No surprises there really ;D ;D

Just got back from the last Brisbane show.
There was no ads this time around. I was 12th from the front and right next to the sound thingy. Sorry Eclair, Mr Wilman wasn't there.
They got up to question 3 of the quiz before the show and the whole video to the screen stopped. Because I was so close and that someone left their radio on, I heard a little panicing going on and some swearing.
You could tell everyone was getting tired because of little mistakes and the cars conking out.
All in all, I had a good time. 3, maybe 4 or 5 shows to go.
BRING ON MELBOURNE!
Slight spoiler........
Poor guy on the motor bike fell off the top of the tractor and landed on his head. He's ok. Jezza said he was only 17 years old. Saw him during the paddock tour and he had his hand bandaged and told a few people he was ok.

Just found a similar article that says the guys won't be at Coffs Harbour and will be away up north until Melbourne. (Don't want to mention where the article said they would be at just in case I get in trouble for it).
