There's a piece in the mail I can't be arsed to put it on here, as I read it quick I felt it didn't do the chap any favours, maybe I'll read it later, again, could be just me ;D

I wouldn't bother with the Mail one (headline - 'Modern men are useless morons, says Top Gear host'). It's the sort of thing that makes me vaguely annoyed because
a) it's really lazy journalism, just lifted from other current interviews, possibly the Radio Times one. (I can't confirm that as, ironically, I've just cancelled my RT delivery) and
b) it reverts to the usual Mail slant of knocking Top Gear and its presenters, eg sneeringly stating ""He went on to attack Top Gear, the show which made him famous..."etc. Erm, no he didn't. Not in the way they imply.
I thought the Mail was actually improving in its attitude to all things TG but perhaps not. It mentions Man Lab in passing, butit's hardly helpful publicity.

I've just had a look at it, and it is taken from the RT interview. See the links above for confirmation of that.

They all "borrow" bits of interviews from each other, don't they? I'm sure this is all legit in the world of journalism but I end up thinking, "now, is that a new piece of information or have I read it before?"

True. It feels like a sort of journalistic deja vu! ;D

That's from the recent article in the Radio Times. It seems to be causing a bit of a stir, judging by the rate at which it's been circulated around the mass media.
I suppose that's what happens when someone in the public eye isn't afraid to speak their mind. C'est la vie.

Well, I'm not a staff member, so I can't say what should be deleted and what should stay. Personally, I have no problem whatsoever with it being here.

Nah leave it, it seems to me someone could be made to walk over very hot coals, dunno whether it as a misquote or complete crap or even a moment of madness, not sure how I felt to be honest. Decided to merge

I don't think it's so much a "feminist backlash" as "someone who entirely missed the point", which, to my mind, was comedy and nothing more.
I suppose some people have to have something to gripe about and get paid for it...

I buy the RT fairly regularly, and I bought a copy of the latest one earlier today. I have now read the full interview, and it's a damn good one. It's clear that the mass media have cherry-picked a very small amount of it in the name of sensationalism. I know it's only to be expected these days, but it still annoys me. Anyway, here is page one:- Attachments:

The main photo accompanying the article is a full page portrait version of the one below, which has already been posted elsewhere on the JMB, so there didn't seem much point in scanning it. Attachments:

That would have to be the naughty corner. I rather like the idea of being in an obscure corner of the internet with James. And I probably should be committed.........

I rather like the idea of being in an obscure corner of the internet with James. I second that thought Dit ;D Obscure corners of the internet snuggled with James sounds blissful (We can be committed together.... share a padded cell maybe?)
