Thanks Lew! This is what I'm up against. That's my car! I looked at that MoA and thought "What car? I can't see one!" then I saw the mirror sticking out.... phew that's a lot of snow indeed! *hugs* for not being able to get to see James

Hopefully this link should take you to my photos. You will notice that a few of them have a mouse in them - I gave it to James to give to Fusker and he laughed his head off and seemed genuinely delighted by it. Feel free to snag and use any that you want ;D

Thanks - glad you all like the pics! I do love my camera as it really comes up with the goods. The girl taking the photos of us with James looked properly scared when I handed it to her though!
There was a good queue formed by the time I left at 1.30ish - easily 100 people I'd say? I dunno whether Dit made it as I don't know what she looks like, but she didn't txt me to check whether James was there or not, so I assume she did? Hope so, anyway.

Thanks for posting, andypanty! Lucky you! *tries not to go too green with envy* He looks wonderful, although he should've been given a higher chair or a lower table. In some pics he looks like a toddler...

Glad to know those of you that went had a good time!
AP your photos are gorgeous - I kind of wish I could be a fly on the wall having seen them. Maybe one day I'll loiter around the history section at a signing and peer through the pages of a learned tome - I could look and not meet him! An alibi would be needed though.....
But hugs to MoA and others who couldn't make it today ) :

Great pics AP, thanks so much for posting them and allowing us to pinch a few for our own collections. Glad so many of you made it and had a fab time. I love the stories about how well he interacts with his fans, a true gentleman.
Like Crumbs I'd need an alibi but as I'm c**p at lying I guess I'll just have to live my dreams through those who go and bring back the stories and pics. *sigh*

Oh, AP, so that was you! I wasn't totally sure at first, but by the time I was (had clocked the good camera and the FG shirt) I was coming up for my signing, then when that was through you'd disappeared. I didn't want to call over to you as I thought I might have attracted too much attention! (and if I'd got it wrong I would have felt a right twit!)
It was lovely to meet up with some of the JMB members. Some of us just found each other, though I was expecting to meet up with Jacqui after our successful visit to the London Dungeon in October. Chatted and had lunch with Jacqui, XJSarah and TheDaisy (lovely to meet you, ladies!) and wandered around Canary Wharf till time for my train.
The main event, of course - well, it was the first time I had met James face-to-face and I'd been assured what a truly pleasant person he is and yes, it's true. He was polite to everyone, shared jokes, allowed, even encouraged photos (though I'm not sure about the girl who got him to stand up then rearranged his hair, though of course James was very polite about it and I suspect it was for her boyfriend's benefit).
I was pleased that there was never a point when the queue got unwieldy, and because it was in an open arrea of the mall it was possible to stay the whole time just outside the (flimsy) barriers and just watch and chat and take photos. Mind you, he must have thought I was an idiot as I kept taking photos because every single one was absolute rubbish! Total camera shake and lack of focus - 12 million pixels and not one knew what to do with itself. I must have about one in focus from about forty - I just kept shooting in the desparate hope of actually getting something clear enough to identify who it was. Same happened at the NEC. Must find out if it's the camera or me!
Thanks for the photos, AP. Even if mine didn't work out I've got a good memory of a lovely conversation with a very, very nice man.

A most excellent day ;D was good to meet Dit and Jacqui, and me old buddy XJ again. James was indeedy on top form today, and yes, a new shirt, although my poor eyesight and I were convinced it was the BFS until it was pointed out to me that twas not so.
Dit, I went back and bought those gloves in the end ;D couldn't resist them. Just a minor bit of alteration to be done, and then I shall be wearing them - woo!
My ancient camera was playing funny beggars with me agian, but I did get a few shots, and once I've extracted them from said camera, I shall post them here.

My decision to go to the booksigning was a last minute one, hence my not mentioning it on here before. However, I'm very glad I did go. It was a great day; it was lovely to see Daisy again, and to meet Dit and Jacqui for the first time. Glad to know you all got home OK. At the time of the first booksigning in September, I couldn't afford to buy the book, so there wasn't any point in going. So, it was good to get a second chance. I'm regarding this day as a belated birthday treat to myself, as the book was published three days before my birthday. I should have asked James to write something like, 'A belated happy birthday', but of course I forgot. When he asked if I wanted a dedication, I said no thanks, but that was only because I couldn't think of anything at that particular moment! D'oh!! I have some photos as well, but they're not of the same high standard as those that AP took. I'll go through them and see if there are any worth posting on here. Don't hold your breath, though! All in all, a damn good day! ;D
