Daisy, glad you went back to the gloves. I could see you were sorely tempted!
I bought a scarf on Euston station.

Thanks for sharing your photos Andypanty. It's probably for the best that I would never get to go to one of these. I'm sure I would just say something stupid!

Great pics andypanty! Glad you all had a great time. I woke up during the night last night and realised that the booksigning would've been happening right at that time, and that you ladies would be having a great day. It did make me smile, I must admit.

Looking at the traffic information today, it looks as if we were lucky to have a 'window' yesterday when some of us were able to get there. Commiserations to those who couldn't.

I know everyone says it, but it really is true, he is the loveliest person to meet. A proper gentleman. *sigh*

Hopefully this link should take you to my photos. You will notice that a few of them have a mouse in them - I gave it to James to give to Fusker and he laughed his head off and seemed genuinely delighted by it. Feel free to snag and use any that you want ;D What lovely pics AP, thank you Nice mousey for ol' Fusk for Christmas ;D A nice new BFS too ;D or have I not seen this one before

My decision to go to the booksigning was a last minute one, hence my not mentioning it on here before. However, I'm very glad I did go. It was a great day; it was lovely to see Daisy again, and to meet Dit and Jacqui for the first time. Glad to know you all got home OK. At the time of the first booksigning in September, I couldn't afford to buy the book, so there wasn't any point in going. So, it was good to get a second chance. I'm regarding this day as a belated birthday treat to myself, as the book was published three days before my birthday. I should have asked James to write something like, 'A belated happy birthday', but of course I forgot. When he asked if I wanted a dedication, I said no thanks, but that was only because I couldn't think of anything at that particular moment! D'oh!! I have some photos as well, but they're not of the same high standard as those that AP took. I'll go through them and see if there are any worth posting on here. Don't hold your breath, though! All in all, a damn good day! ;D As long as I get my hands on the 'jacket' one mine are okay but you were definitely in the right position ;D

As long as I get my hands on the 'jacket' one mine are okay but you were definitely in the right position ;D Those photos came out a bit blurred, but you can have copies if you like. I'm afraid my photography skills aren't as good as AP's, and neither is my camera such good quality. Such is life.

No it was definitely my skill - or lack of it! I never seem to be able to hold a camera still enough. Anyway, here's the first one. Attachments:

I had camera trouble at 2 out of 3 signings. At Selfridges I was in a great position to take loads. The security guy standing next to me kept asking if I had taken a decent one yet. My camera isn't an SLR but its the next best thing. Everything was on autopilot as I call it so it was a complete mystery, until..... My daughter asked if I had the auto flash on, that apparently, if not on, will make for blurry pics. I was ready to try it out yesterday but you've heard enough about that! p.s. Luckily at both signings where still shots were pants, the short movie clips I took were brill!

Thanks for the coat pics, xjs! I have virtually the same ones but mine are universally awful, so blurred that you wouldn't be able to tell who he was if you didn't know!
MofA, I've never heard that before but it would explain my problems, as there must be some specific reason why they are virtually all bad. I took my camera off 'auto-flash' as the ones I tried out with flash were very dark, and I'd done the same at the NEC though for a different reason (my late husband was a professional photographer and always said there is no point in using flash more than 10 feet away from your subject as it just won't do anything, and I was in the 12th row so I didn't even try!) Your daughter's theory might fit, though it must be a weakness of this type of camera if that's the case!

Oh, AP, so that was you! ... I didn't want to call over to you as I thought I might have attracted too much attention! (and if I'd got it wrong I would have felt a right twit!) Especially with my username ;D
