Even the dulcet tones of Mr May could never, ever lure me into listening to anything with the words 'Jo' and 'Wiley' in the title

New bit of info: when he was around 18 his hair was at its longest. "Liz Hurley like". ;D Oh lordy now that will probably give me nightmares I love long hair on men but..... mind you it was the late 70's early 80's.... mine was probably as wide as his was long.... curls and back combing mine... not James'...but you never know ;D

Well, you see, that would have made him just my sort of bloke. (not the curls and backcombing, Jacqui!). That sort of hair on blokes my age now would be Eek! but when I was a student (and after) I used to adore really long hair - assuming it was clean, of course. And I seem to recall that he moonlighted as a minstrel? Would have been most appropriate.
Can you just imagine James? I can.

James's childhood friend Cookie has started posting comments on the DT comment board. Maybe we should ask him for pics from that period. ;D What I also liked about the interview is when he told how much he enjoyed meeting Paloma Faith on Shooting Stars. He must really like the arty birds.

Lovely to hear his voice. As for the music.....well, I quite enjoyed the Guns n Roses.....
I was a sucker for long hair as a teen as well - and it would appear I still am, to a slightly shorter extent.
At least I discovered I have one thing in common with him - I too stare at the ice cream array and always plump for vanilla. It's the barometer of a good ice cream.

Fact: if I'm ever going on a road trip with James, I'll be picking the music. I couldn't agree more linden, I gave up after the second record sorry Jam, and I thought I had a broad taste in music

I'd say it's extraordinary! Blimey he must have needed a pint to go past her without a second glance. What a hoot!

James mentioned Lady Gaga looked like any local and that's why he didn't recognize her. Next time I'm in London, I'm definitely touring Hammersmith. ;D

Being honest, I'd not have looked at her (like that) and thought OMG it's Lady Gaga!!!!11!!! Is Hammersmith all that....um....ecelectic, though? In Camden you'd see a lot of people dressed more alternatively, but I never guessed that good old Hammersmith had such a crazy underbelly ;D

I wouldn't know Lady Gaga if I stood on her. Guessing James didn't truly care too much.
Must listen to this interview when time allows.

I expect I know of her curious and individual fashion sense because of our daughters and their interest in such matters. There are photos attached of her visiting the Cross Keys by fallatyourfeet (see above) - dressed down she ain't!

I like Paloma too from what I've seen of her on various TV programmes, and though I haven't heard a lot of her music, on the grounds of the track that was played I think I might investigate further.
