Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May go head-to-head against their opposite numbers from Australian Top Gear in a car-based version of The Ashes. With disciplines including rallying, drifting and an Aussie version of double-decker car racing, it's an all-out grudge match that will almost certainly end in tears. Also in the show, Jeremy is on the test track in Ferrari's new 599 GTO and another celebrity guest takes their turn as the star in a Reasonably Priced Car.
Seen it ;D

Bloody brilliant! ;D I'd seen the challenges before, on Australian TG, but they were just as entertaining this time around. I laughed myself silly at the News section, and I'm really hoping that the uncut version will appear on the TG website at some point. And if that wasn't enough, my favourite tennis player appeared on my favourite TV show. My life is now complete! ;D

My fave tennis player too - I had such a crush on him when I was a teenager! Car review was excellent and the news was hysterical, but The Ashes left me cold. The challenges were just as funny, but something in the banter joining them together was WAY off - either that or the edit just didn't work. Wonder if that was what Jeremy meant in his comment at the awards about 'not being proud of tonight's show'.

Boris Becker's always good value.
I thought this was a really good episode, though I preferred last week's. I just felt the Ashes section was a bit too long, and I don't like the double-decker races. Everything else was great (including a very brief appearance from jacqui).

I thought it was all great, but then I'm easily pleased! I'm just waiting for the Daily Wail contingent to kick up a fuss about the references to various murderers. It's inevitable, if not obligatory these days, for someone to be offended.

Two thumbs up ;D
The news is actually about cars again, and OMG that 250 GTO... I might have made some rather crisis-y noises at that point. I love the cars of that era (my favourite Italian racer is still the Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 though) and that is one of the prettiest.

I really enjoyed it - as much as last week's show.
I do sometimes think they deliberately make comments to force the Daily Fail (and similar) to wail but that's all a part of the show these days.

Finally got to see it. I have to admit, I was damn near rolling on the floor laughing as soon as I saw that van Richard was driving take off. I love this ridiculous show so very much. ;D And James peeking out from behind the tree....adorable! And funny.

It was this one with the (Mexican) comments, yes? Obviously things still rankle; this comment appeared today in the Mirror's wrestling blog: Recent comments from BBC TV’s Top Gear presenters regarding Mexico and its people have generated a response from the stars of Mexico’s finest, Lucha Future.
The legendary Queen of the Ring, Cassandro, has challenged Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May to a bout in the ring at London’s Roundhouse. “If they want to know what Mexico is really like, I’ll let them know in 5 minutes and it will take only one Mexican against the three of them using only junior moves.”I am in tears of laughter at the image of the TG3 being pursued around the ring by an angry, butch lady wrestler (or is it an angry, not very butch 'Queen'?). I can just imagine how they would react. Can it not be arranged? I'd pay good money to see it (or as a segment in series 17)! Jacqui did go to a couple of filmings of that series, and her daughter went with her at least once. But jacqui's still sunning herself at the moment - I think she's in Phuket this week - so confirmation will have to wait.
