In the last show of this series Jeremy Clarkson races the new Jaguar XJ against something even bigger and more powerful - the rotation of the Earth itself.
Meanwhile, Richard Hammond achieves a boyhood dream by testing two 1980s supercar icons, the Porsche 959 and Ferrari F40, and James May is in America to drive NASA's very latest Space Exploration Vehicle.

According to something I read on DS, the SIARPC is John Prescott

I am quite looking forward to John 'Two Jags'Prescott coming face to face with Jeremy, it could be verbal war. I bet his lap is a slow one, but I'd like to be proved wrong.

Someone on FG said the interview was a car-wreck. That was me (sorry, different usernames!) and it was. It will need a damn good edit to get anything sensible out of it, because a lot of the time it went beyond verbal sparring and into the realms of being utterly cringe-worthy. And even though Jeremy will probably come out of it smelling of roses, tbh JP had the upper hand for a lot of it.

What - Andy's lucky pants? You haven't lived if you don't know about them. Me - I've seen them in the flesh!!! Their importance and history was first discussed on TG.com here, (about 40secs in) and their demise was reported in the S16E05 discussion blog here.[/color] And yes - they are as manky as they look. The middle pic in my sig was taken just before he showed them to me.

That was excellent loved every bit.John Prescot is still a plank but I thought Jeremy did a great job without resorting to punching him in the head.Hammond's face was wonderful to watch when he got his dream cars and James bloody gorgeous and informative.I so want a mark 2 moon buggy.A pleasure as always.

John Prescot is still a plank but I thought Jeremy did a great job without resorting to punching him in the head. Oh trust me - he nearly did thump him. That was a very good edit because the interview wasn't just watchable, it was actually brilliant entertainment compared to what actually happened live. Utterly awesome episode - wish they were all like that!

I was relieved when Jeremy said "See you in June" at the end, as otherwise the episode was the ultimate perfection, from the point of view of the guys, at least.
Jeremy challenges God. Richard drives his perfect cars. James gets to drive the lunar module which links into his childhood fantasies. (Is there any vehicle this guy can't drive? I reckon he's the only one of the three who was even considered to be capable of driving the combine/snowplough last week). There is a Cool Wall.
My only criticism is that there was a lot of Richard and Jeremy but not as much of James. Otherwise, a brilliant, car-based, balanced episode.

I'll take the Porsche 959 and the new Jag ;D Hammond in the peugot was hillarious ;D James loves his NASA stuff doesn't he, suits him down to a tea ;D Great end to the series, a well balanced show with something great from each one of them. Now what will i do on sunday evenings Is Best of TG on next week? ;D

Great end to the series. The three seperate segments were utterly perfect for each of them: Jezza (race!), Richard (dream cars) and James (GEEK!!!!). Being non-Ukanian, I'm not vey familiar with John Precott, but I'd heard of him and at least he seems like a very colourful person who's not afraid to speak his mind and thankfully he wasn't plugging a movie. On a final note. I have a brilliant idea for a new series: James should team up with professor Brian Cox and do a "James and Brian's Big Space Adventure.

I understand what you're saying, nobody, but this episode was a different kind of construction somehow. I loved last week's group adventure but their individual segments this week were good in a different way.

I gave this a 7 - didn't enjoy it quite as much. Loved the cool wall and James driving the moon buggy but somehow this one just didn't press the right buttons for me.
Except James did look scrummy - so if I could I'd give it 7.5

I think this series has been the best since series 13, and the most consistent in considerably longer. They've wound back the cocking about a bit and upped the car content but not done it in too serious a way. THIS is the direction I want Top Gear to go in for (if James' recent interview is to be believed) its last two series. I don't mind if the boys aren't all together in the films in every episode, because episodes where they all do separate things are often the most diverse and varied (and least silly). I need an element of proper car content to be truly content with the show, but then again, I've always been a Top Gear fan before being a fan of the presenters (though admittedly I've been besotted with Jeremy since he first appeared in the late 80s).
I just hope that come series 17, the people who've whinged, moaned, criticised and picked up on something to be 'offended' at in every single episode either shut up or grow up. I mean, they dropped the ball a couple of times, and they deserved to be pulled up, but they aren't some kind of unholy trinity. Clarkson's not the antichrist and what has spoiled this series more than anything for me has been the amount of sh*t-stirring the press and other elements of the liberal media has chosen to do. Thank god for the EHRC having more sense than the lot of them put together.

Yes, I also would have loved to have seen the whole version of the John Prescott interview. I loved James piece about the moon buggy. I think he loves the space centre as much as me. I have been lucky to have enough to see the launches of two manned space flights from there (one from the VIP seats, and one from the causeway.)

One of the best, would love to see the whole Prescott interview ;D Maybe they could put it up on their website. My other favourite tv-show The Daily Show often does that when the interview is too interesting to be cut short.
