I keep posting on this thread - probably more than I post on Twitter. Anyway, James is beginning to drive me nuts with all this "innit", "soz", "lolz" and "amazeballs" stuff. It's annoying from someone half his age, and as he's twice the age of someone half his age, it's twice as annoying! Had to get that off my chest. I told him to lay off (wanted to say bugger off) ....there nuffing wrong in Essex slang ;D in small doses...not taking the piss Mr May, but as ever not sound, maybe time to not answer his tweets go on strike.....I've done enough of his PR over time, payback is due ;D That's off my double d's I'll raise your double d's........ Anyway is he still at it innit.... trust someone will tell me so i can consider turning him back on ;D

While we're griping....I had been following @jmstyntk but unfollowed when most of their tweets were merely worthless retweets of others' mundane observations. Am I the only one who is irritated by people who retweet a bazillion things? Not the only one. I haven't followed at all because it smells of fan-covering-as-official-Tw*tter-account to me. Happy to be proven wrong, though. Tw*tter and indeed the vast majority of cyberspace is irritating me to no end at the moment. Half inclined to close my account down, to be honest. Very skeptical.

I've only been on a couple of weeks and I admit I'm bemused. I really only joined to read James tweets from the horse's mouth as they say, with the possibility of tweeting him and getting a reply, plus I wanted to see what went on on Twitter as so many JMB members seem to be using it at the moment. I reckon I'll stay on for the time being, though I'll downsize things a bit.

I only read tw@tter on the net when i can be ar*sed. It can be all consuming and before you know thats all you are doing. Yes i have a tw@t account and FB account - i also have trainers but i don't run - ever ;D My daughter and i went for a drink last night, we sat watching a group of peoplesat round a table, they weren't talking, they were ALL on their phones, texting/tweeting/FB'ing whatever; but NOT talking to each other - my daughter quipped they were probably texting each other!! Frankly I think its extremely rude to be on your phone if you are out with someone for the evening etc. For the hour we were there the most the spoke was to ask for another round

So, the concensus is, we're none too enamoured of Twitter!
I'm mostly in Read Only mode, but I may even give that up. I quite like liking James, and I think to continue, there still needs to be some aura of mystery around him. Twitter is too much information. I prefer it here.
Maybe it's my hormones.
Hello Zach, by the way. If the above sentence doesn't put you off, nothing will!

Hello Zach, by the way. If the above sentence doesn't put you off, nothing will! Agree with this and all of the above. Finding twitter confusing and far too time comsuming. Also think I'm breaking a lot of the accepted "rules" and the time difference is very limiting as well. Please don't be offended if I unfollow anyone from here. 'Tis nothing personal . So I'll just hang around here, where I belong.

On the use of mobile phones - they irritate the hell out of me! There! I've said it. I have to have one for work but for me, they are purely to talk on or send brief informative texts (such as 'where are you?'!). I agree with Jacqui - I find it very sad when I see a group of people together fiddling with their phones rather than talking to each other. I am truly a Luddite. Now, I'm not saying I'm against all things techno - many things on t'internet are a wonder to behold (and there's the truly bad too of course) for example. But bring back proper conversation! Twitter (I looked for a few days and it irritated the hell out of me) I find quite weird really.
Blimey, I'm being opinionated - sorry one and all. I know some of you are a bit addicted to it and I really dont wish to offend anyone.

When i read his Tweets/Twitter feed it feels like my head is in a blender. i feel completely dyslexic. its nice to be able to get that bit closer to James via his daily tweets however... i dont know how i would survive without this place. ;D and secondly i feel like the only JMB'er to of never received a reply ive gone back to FB and im talking to my actual friends a lot more now. Yeah! it was just a phase, the James Twitter thing. i will still duck in now & then ;D Congrats Dit on James 'Retweet about the weather though

I'm wondering if Jezza and James are doing something for Top Gear today. James tweeted he woke up in North Yorkshire and yesterday Jezza said he drove over the River Ure also in Yorkshire. Possible!? Apparently Jezza tweeted and somebody responded they were in Upleatham.

I did wonder why Jez was heading that way, given that he must have gone straight from the plane back from his holidays to Yorkshire. I can't imagine him coming in to an airport up north and driving back down, either to London or Chipping Norton!
Though talking of driving and Twitter, I did love James and Jeremy winding each other up about the picture James tweeted from his Rolls-Royce yesterday evening. Now have the image of Jeremy sitting in the back of James' Royce with them wearing their matching watches like a pair of husbands and Jeremy with his arms draped around James' shoulders to take a picture of the Corniche's dials!

We may be an exclusive club, but you're not alone. I don't tweet him often either, and my timing is atrocious. Guaranteed I will ask him a question just before he goes on a 48 hour shut down.
James had a bit of a "moment" yesterday, didn't he? I mean the sarcastic parody he tweeted to Hammond, copying the style (and spelling) of one of Richard's teenie fans.
Edit: I mean this one
@thehamsterscage give me a retweet im ur biggest fan you no u shld lols megacheese totes awesomesauce. #Bollox
I wondered if he was losing it a bit. If Twitter gets to us, imagine what it must do to them.

Who is Iain May? And more importantly, does James have new brown shoes?

I've seen the brown shoes before, but I think - in James terms - they're new.
Iain May is one of the Top Gear film cameramen

I find James' expression quite enigmatic. Or perhaps he's just bored. Or perhaps... "I seriously wish you* were here with me instead of these blokes**."^*Could be singular or collective (e.g. JMB picnic day...). **Sorry "these blokes", whoever you are. ;D ^As if.
