Has anyone noticed that James always has about 350 - 400 people "following", whereas Jeremy only seems to have about 40. Can anyone explain this please? Jeremy has more "followers" after all. I guess what I am really asking is what does "following" actually mean? #twitternumpty.

I think "following" means people they're following themselves. "Followers" are the people following them
If you see what I mean...

Hammond has been somewhat reluctantly wartching the football with the others, and has just tweeted
Watched match with Jezza and May. An unbelievable display: Two middle-aged men whooping and leaping, bellies flying. #Embarrassingbellends

Jeremy has put up a fan site page: Mr. Bean vs. Mr. May. Mr. Bean is way ahead. If you have or don't have a facebook page please go here and vote/like. James has 338 and Rowan over 2000. fansiteshowdown.com/bean-vs-may.html

James has just tweeted a hashtag
#AlwaysHadABitOfAThingAboutWomenWhoWearGlasses
Out of curiosity, I wonder how many JMB members might fall into that remit?
I'm in!

Bugger. I used to have reading glasses, but I had an eye test a couple of years ago and my vision was deemed to be "perfect", so I haven't used them since. Nothing like a bit of spontaneous healing...! But surely there are exceptions to every rule? #AsIf

Count me in with the glasses crowd; just for distance though. I don't often wear them (well, not as often as I'm supposed to...) but I just might start

I've got loads of pairs of glasses - most of them bought for £1.99 from the supermarket and used for threading needles, but nonetheless, he's gonna really love me!

JD, I appreciate your concern for your friend, and I would very much hope that even if people here did voice their disapproval of anything someone said on Twitter, they would not tweet someone directly with abuse. There's a difference between generally not liking people acting in a certain way - which people are entitled to do - and in attacking someone personally. Having said that, last time we ran into Twitter issues, we concluded that we cannot police what people say on other sites, so this isn't really the place to discuss this - especially as it isn't something happening between board members. However, if members of this board are engaging in bullying behaviour, feel free to discuss it with the Administrators (Inky, Lew, Lymaze, Admin) as they do take this subject seriously.
We all have lines we draw in these cases, and they may vary quite dramatically between different people. Twitter is an open forum and whilst people are free to post what they want to post, it does open you up to unwanted attention if you have a public account and you do something other people consider to be inappropriate. However, we've already had quite extensive debate on this subject on this board and we can't really go there again as Admin (i.e. the people in charge) have concluded that if Twitter causes too much of an issue here, it would be better if it wasn't discussed here at all. With all three of the guys now tweeting, let's try to keep to discussing those tweets and raise any issues via PM.
Thank you.

sorry wyvern i will not mention again Don't feel you can't mention concerns - if there is a problem, please bring it to attention of the mods/admin. There is no place for threats or bullying here, and if we can help with anything that affects the members of this board, we will.

Hammond tweeted earlier
Many asking after James' health: He is not dead. Sitting next to me now, tatty, but still breathing and looking like an old, leather sofa.
Not long after, James tweeted
I've just realised Hammond is sitting next to me. I nearly put my feet up, thinking he was a pouffe. #Crap70sFurnitureGag
(He was taken to task for that one)
