Hahahaha! Love the look on the subject's face. He's rather indignant. James, leave the drawing to Nat. She'll teach you!

I laughed at him doing the whole "falls to his knees in anguish with head in hands" footballer's thing at the end. Well observed!

So, tonight's the night... You lucky people get to actually see the new episode tonight. Based on all the outtakes it'll be quite a ride. Hope to catch it asap. Could really use something to cheer me up a bit..

That grunting sounds like sounds from the NC when visions of filth have been posted

Turning a piece of wood on a lathe and making something out of it is so very theraputic! And the smell is just something else! If you can, try it someday!

What a great first episode. It made me laugh out loud several times. The pace was still good, but al least it wasn't as hectic as the first series.

Looks like they've taken on board some of the criticism and made the chucks a bit longer, the chapter breaks I put in were 7-11 mins, in the old series they were more like 5 mins.
I know someone who has just nearly killed himself trekking across Dartmoor in rain & fog, he wasn't very impressed with that part of the programme, apparently. Personally, I liked it ;D

That was a vast improvement on the last series. Less hectic and breathless, more time given to each segment. Informative and above all entertaining! Excellent piece of television ;D
Can't wait for next weeks episode ;D

Please! I'm only just watching it now on Sky+ as I was out at Zumba, but I like to keep episodes on my laptop..
I left the lappy on when I went out, including a window for my twitter feed, and came back to find there are 299 new tweets. I'm guessing it might just be something to do with the programme? I'll have to find time to read them when I've watched the programme - wonder how many there'll be by then?
Edit - by the time Man Lab finished about 50 minutes later, the tweets were up to 311. I'm just about to wade through them to see whether there are any gems. Might take a while.....

When James was describing how to do map and compass work, there was a chorus of 'wrong' from man and son, followed by an explanation of the fact that magnetic north is not a constant and therefore bearings have to be modified up to 8 degrees to allow for this. Do I care? No.

Ah, but IIRC, OS maps are annotated with the adjustment required at the time of printing, though obviously you need to be aware of how old your map is. Something like that anyway, it's been years since I went orienteering.
Anyway, bravo chaps, keep it up - huge improvement on the first episode of series 1, proving you don't have to rush everything (though perhaps I'd make an exception for escaping from Dartmoor prison; that should definitely be accomplished as quickly as possible).

Thank you so very very muchos!! It'll take over an hour to load but then it's mine forever!!! ;D Btw I would never put such curtains in my living room - or in any other room for that matter No flowers, please... But he makes almost anything look good, or at least bearable. Cannot wait to see this. And Flat: haven't really done any woodwork, don't have the gear. But might give it a go if I ever get a chance. Would need to build a cd-shelf actually One day, when my home is mine again (if that ever happens).

Do I care? No. This was more or less the same response I got from the kid. She's been orienteering a few times there for she knows it all!! Saying that she sat and watched it with me and laughed her head off.Loved it and made a regular date to watch it with me. I loved Rory he was amazingly funny and James was his lovely self.I love that man's laugh and other bits.

Love the pics, adrianmay - I've stolen them, as per usual!
I'm beginning to wonder if he's developing a collection of specs in the way he has done of watches. He seems to have quite a few pairs now.
