It is just so coincidental, not to burst your bubble. Did he know your handle? Me thinks somebody lurks this board, maybe his agent!

My handle? no idea what that is... but it was off twitter, the message he read out was a tweet from ages ago and MorganStarr89 is my twitter user name. God only knows what he must think of me if he's been in/on the board haha.

handle is american for your user name. It is primarily used for truckers. I just wondered if he knew it was you as morganstarr that sent the socks.

I finally got the chance to watch the second episode. And like everyone else, I loved it! ;D Love Fungus was actually pretty good considering how much time had passed since they were together and the time they had to prepare. James looked great and seemed to have a wonderful time. I did feel bad for him getting nervous about introducing them. I loved him practicing his moves. Poor Rory. ;D The ghost hunting/busting bit was great. I think however, that he should have dropped the relaxation techniques. Instead of showing people how to overcome their fears, just have the segment be about ghost hunting in particular. Having said that, I did like being able to see their heart rates going up and down. ;D The paper making part was my favorite. I live in a town with a paper making mill, so I had a bit of inside knowledge already. This segment was pure James. He was definitely in his element. And after witnessing your prowess with the press, James.. I would definitely voulvez vous coucher avec toi ce soir!! Great shout-out, morgan! I'm not sure I want a magnetic ceiling, but it was an interesting solution! ;D ;D And, may I ask why he has a ninja star in a bowl in his kitchen?? Do I want to know??

I'm thinking maybe he did I hope so...I would like to think so anyways. as his way of saying cheers!

but it was off twitter, the message he read out was a tweet from ages ago and MorganStarr89 is my twitter user name. I am sooo very tempted to ask him a question, to see if my tweet gets selected. However, all I can come up with is, "I rewired my house. It burned down. Now what? #livingintheUSA"* *The Man Lab book wiring instructions are incorrect for houses built in the US, according to my husband.

When I tried downloading the episodes from the Megaupload links that meimichan posted all I got was audio. I tried downloading them a few different ways with the same results. Any ideas anyone? I'm dying to see the first two episodes!

There is, it has to be said, quite a lot of comment on the internet, and this spoof really amused me.
"IN OUR NEW TV AD CAMPAIGN, TOP GEAR'S JAMES MAY RECREATES THE ISRAELITES CROSSING OF THE RED SEA USING AN ELABORATE SYSTEM OF PULLEYS."

The Bowl of Many Things has made a previous appearance as the Bowl of Limitless Abundance. No mention of the ninja throwing star, though www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/columnists/jamesmay/2752176/James-May-The-car-key-conundrum.htmlThe original comments are still accessible, including a very sweet one from a Derek Denton and a couple by some bird called Wyvern. Compare and contrast with how the comments section ended up. Ah, those were the days... Sorry. A bit off-topic for the Man Lab thread, but I was having a bit of a nostalgic wallow in the DT archive.

I remember writing that comment - I used to love the DT articles back then. You could have a good old ruminate without it getting silly.
I have since downsized, however - I now live in a room full of crap rather than a whole house. However, the crap is now residing in a storage locker full of crap, so that hasn't really improved...
Also, re: the magnetic ceiling, I was watching with an old schoolfriend, and when we saw that, she looked at me and grinned wildly and said "we so have to make one of those!"
I suspect we will, as well.

Having made a concerted effort to cleanse my house of its crap, it's all ended up being funnelled into the bedroom, so I just sleep in a room full of crap.
Getting out of bed for a wazz in the middle of the night is like that bit in Total Wipeout with the mud and the boxing gloves.
Edit: The magnetic ceiling is tempting...

Just finished watching episode 2 and there was so much to love! Ghost-hunting was excellent, and I enjoyed seeing the heart rate spikes as well. I won't even pretend that his heart was elevating into the danger zone because he was thinking of us on the board I too live very near a town with a long paper-making history. Wonder if the sludge he mixed ever attained the turnipy smell I always associate with paper production? I'm wondering if his "ninja star" was actually a type of table decoration on a sort of Christmas candle centrepiece. My parents had one from the time I was just a baby and it was always set out every Christmas. Basically there was a metal base in which you set four six-inch taper candles, and a metal pipe ran up the centre. It branched out like a cactus with a bell on each "arm" and above that sat the ninja star fan with four metal angel figures hanging below it, each with a small metal strip hanging from the toes. When the candles were lit, the fan would turn and the metal strips on the angels' toes would ring the bells softly. I'm going to try to attach a picture of it; they were listed online as Scandanavian angel chimes: By the way Morgan, my jaw nearly hit the floor when I heard James read the viewer letter of the week. Go, you!!!! Well done and I hope you're already working hard constructing your new ceiling ;D

ZOMG, Morgan! Yay for the shout out!! Happy early birthday to you!! As they say over here, "Represent!" lol As soon as James mentioned "voulvez vous coucher avec toi ce soir" (which is the only thing I know how to say in French; I was a Spanish major) as he was making the paper, I literally stopped what I was doing, paused the video of James talking and stared at the screen for a good 30 seconds to mutter, "Did you just ask me what I thought you just asked me? If the answer is yes, then likewise." ;D And I agree with Viv, possibly his agent or even he lurks on this board from time to time. The timing is just too perfect.

I have been googling and ebaying and what not. I have found my magnets and they are on the way to me as we speak. Now I just need to find some sheet metal...I'm gonna stick it up in my shed though instead of in the house because I don't think my mum would really go for it. But still.

My parents still have one EXACTLY like that! I've just has this e-mail from TOH: "Meanwhile, perhaps some mild discouragement about making a 'magnetic ceiling storage solution' for me for Xmas!" It would be pointless. Paper isn't magnetic and that's what most of the crap that fills his house is made of. I have offered him a box of matches on several occasions...

Voulez vous coucher avec moi.
James, you cheeky devil. You certainly know how many of us would answer that with a resounding, 'yes, please, very much so.'
Very enjoyable episode. The ghost hunting had MY heart racing. Loved the reference to Hammond's book. James blows me away every single time. Oh, this man...
